Just noticed that the Marantz MCR-510 music system is down from £369 to £249, making it really decent value for a mini system with streaming features/Spotify.

Aesthetics are important in my family as well as performance so this is a strong contender. The slim profile of the Marantz NR1504 is a deal maker for me, as I have no space for a full height av receiver, and SWMBO would not allow it anyway!

I just have :p - I have iPhone 4 but can stream music with Airplay, excellent sound quality from The B&W Z2 dock, much better than I was expecting, and lovely build quality too.

I have a pair of B&W 686 bookshelf speakers in my bedroom and ideally want to play my TV sound through them, and also radio/ music files on my computer. Would the Denon CEOL Piccolo be man enough for the job, in your opinion? Room is 18' x 14'. Thanks.

I am also looking at adding the Yamaha YSP4300 under my TV which is an LG 55LM860V can anyone advise if it will be too tall to fit under the TV? Thanks, Jake.

As the B&W 684 is still a current model, could you not have a listen to them at a local dealer with some favourite CD's before you make the purchase?

I would also recommend you find a local dealer where you can listen to the models in your price range , KEF, Monitor Audio, Tannoy and B&W all make excellent speakers for the money in my opinion, but I finally settled on the B&W 685 speakers after a 2 hour demo as they suited my taste in sound...

I am also in the market for a network receiver in this price range, have been considering the benefits of Onkyo TX-NR616 over 515, as far I can see the 616 has 165 watts power per channel, THX Select2 certification and has multiroom audio output to Zone 2 (amplified) and zones 3 (not amplified)...

It reduces distortion in the AC waveform, which in turn reduces noise in the power supply of your hi-fi equipment.

I would recommend you check your speaker wiring for short circuits.

Why not employ Sonos Connect and then you can use your iDevice to control volume, and track selected when relaxing outside? ;)

I agree, set the level controls to half way on your sub and then adjust the final setting to your own taste.:)
