My Klipsch Reference Series Home Theater Build
i think thats a very sensible thing you did adding in-walls to the kids room they could too enjoy surround sound without the distraction of equipment where damage could be caused to kids by kids, equipment and pocket. Seeing less makes the room feel spacious :-)

for such a little room 4 massive tower speakers 2 big surrounds and 2 monster subs dont you think that thats overkill shatter the walls you would but i like.......

The 12" just hits hard & the 15" really digs deep with my MBM-12 so those 2 really slam you in the chest. great xpression , i'll take that as a tip

cant get my head around the JAMO D SERIES SPEAKERS
is it the neat design? Yes! is it the powerful wall mountable compact satellite decor feature? Yes! is it the matching massive 15" sub? Yes! is it the THX certified badge? Yes! is it the european design? No! is it best suited to any sized room? I'd say so! all of these satisfies all my ever...

Need help in selecting front L/R and center speakers
usually you would try to match all the same series/model speakers as all brands are made to be different will deliver good quality however

you should try it and play with the dial and see what sound suits you better its to adjust the sub from the main speakers i think whether you want all the sub to handle all low frequency or put some to the mains good luck!

Suggestions for a start-up system - $1,200 budget
if you were only wanting 2.1 and happen to be somewhere in brisbane i would offer you my JAMO E8 series i've recently put up for sale for 1600 2.1 i've got a 9.2 system 4000 all matching speaker actually, selling as full set or split to 2.1 ( a pair of E875 tower speakers...

a new receiver would do your speakers justice with the sound formats and higher end tech selling cheaper than chips

play around with the picture mode adjust the quality e.g cinema, game, dynamic and so on . maybe needs more colour than contrast

Speaker placement for awkard shaped dorm room..?
my 2nd opinion is if no drilling holes then satellite speakers never hurt anyone just get stands to suit that way you could rearrange at any time

maybe if you move your bed off the wall a little you can place the side speakers further back towards the bed as how a 7.1 system is meant to place or even if you hadnt got your receiver yet you may try for a yamaha with presence speaker option and place a 5.1 with the extra set of speaker as...
