    Upgrade???

The first three posts in this link explain the differences between the Denons in the XX12 line. The **OFFICIAL** Denon AVR-XX12 Model Owner's Thread - AVS Forum Also, google "Batpig" or check out batpigworld.com. "Batpig" is a person who is immersed in all things Denon and has a website...

    Upgrade???

Skip the 1912. It has a lessor version of Audyssey, the 2112 has MultEq XT. You can get a new 2112 for less than $450 shipped, no tax (depending on where you live) if you call--and you have to call--Electronics Expo. And you might want to check J&R electronics, ABT, and this cite's sales...

I don't believe it. I need more power?

"This light will come on if the amplifier exceeds its maximum output capability on any channel. While this will not harm the amplifier, it does warn of potential harm to your loudspeakers if the light stays illuminated continuously for more than ten seconds." I wonder if blink or a flash with...

    Too Much Sub?

I don't have a dog in the fight, but that does seem like the Rythmik rolls off pretty fast after 80Hz. I run B&W N804's--not exactly low end satellites--and I like to cross them over higher than 80Hz and let my SubM HP pull a little more of the load down low. I know the SubM is flat to almost...

    Separates help needed

Electronics Expo, for one, WW Stereo, for another, and I think J&R will get close. IIRC the sales department of this site will get close as well. Here is a "deals thread" link from AVS: Denon 4311CI @ EE for $1329.99 - AVS Forum You have to call to get the best price, however.

    Separates help needed

You might want to consider giving the Denon 4311 a try, and if it didn't meet you power needs, drop in three outlaw monoblocks: Model 2200 Monoblock Power Amplifier There is a guy on the AVS classifieds with 6 of these for sale, and he's willing to split them up into sets of three.

    Too Much Sub?

There's almost no such thing as "too much sub," IMO, because once you level match the sub it will simply give you more headroom and work with less effort, even if you don't max out its capabilities. Get the best sub(s) you can afford that will physically fit in the space and you won't regret it.

    Separates help needed

The 4311 street's around $1300 shipped from several authorized resellers. FWIW, I think this is a bargain for what you get, including XT32. I have a 4311 driving my 5.1 system (N804s/HTM2) and it does it with ease with a sub in the mix and everything crossed over a 80Hz. (I am almost...

Looking for a new receiver! (Finally)

I like Denons, so if it were me with a $1000 budget, I'd look at the 3312 which is the top of the XX12 line and can be had for $800 or so if you live in the US, new in the box from an authorized reseller. If you can up your budget, you can get onto a 4311 for around $1300 shipped, which has all...

    Sub/Space dilemma

I think JL Audio's new e-class subs look interesting if space is a concern and you can wait until Summer. JL Audio E-110 and E-112 Home Subwoofers - eCoustics.com

    Emotiva XMC-1 Processor Preview

Is this a real product, or is it vaporware? I don't see it for sale on Emotiva's website. Also, as a point of information only, the street price on the 4311 from several authorized resellers new in the box is <$1350 shipped right now, and at least one unauthorized reseller has had them for...

    Receiver Overkill or Future Proofing?

The XX12's almost are "last year's model," and there are some pretty good deals on the 2112 right now. If you wait a few months it actually will be last years model, but I'm not sure how substantial the savings will be.

    Receiver Overkill or Future Proofing?

I have three different family members with a Denon 2112 and all are happy with it. I think its a pretty solid unit with a decent amp section and, best of all, you get MultEQ XT, which will Eq a Sub. Whatever receiver you get, make sure it will Eq the sub, because, IMO, this will have the...

Sub Reviews I'd Like to See

There seem to be at least a few PB-13 Ultra owners on AVS who recently bought SubM HP(s) and are comparing them on the PB-13 Ultra and SubM threads on AVS. I think a Canadian group buy had something to do with it. Anyway, the subjective reviews seem pretty positive for both subs but are...

    Sub advice, around $1000

A Submersive HP would be a great choice. IIRC, that Yamaha won't eq a sub, I'd find this out if I were you. I would rather have Audyssey MultEq XT that will eq a sub, and if I were running duals, I would want XT32, which will eq duals. If you are going to stick with the Yamaha and it won't eq...

Sub Reviews I'd Like to See

So, perusing this thread, I'd say we have some pretty good candidates for a shootout in the $1500 to $2500 category. :)

Sub Reviews I'd Like to See

I agree somewhat but I'd still like to see the JL review. I have room for the SubM in my HT setup, but I'd like to get a bedroom set up and I just don't have room for a bigger sub there (and I know other people have size constraints as well) and I also don't need huge output from a ported sub...

Sub Reviews I'd Like to See

I love the subwoofer reviews on here, they are my favorite type of reviews, and I especially like the objective testing. These are a few I'd like to see: 1. Submersive HP. I own one and recommend this unit to everyone I can. I'd like to see an objective review and testing to either...
