    10k budget for mains

FYI, we offer no cost in home demo of the 6.1P's, and we do have a few customers around who are willing to demo their systems so depending on where you are and what your looking at getting you may be able to listen before you buy.

Active vs Passive Speakers. Budget ~10k

What I mean is the DSP crossover settings themselves should not be changed to adjust the response, as this has to be set permanently to make the drivers work correctly together. Parametric EQ should be done as a separate operation, even if it is done with the same DSP system. I am not sure if...

Active vs Passive Speakers. Budget ~10k

I would not advocate messing with the crossover settings as "tone" controls, as this will likely have adverse affects. Once the active crossover is set by the designer that is left alone. EQ adjustments should be made separately and are often minor changes that make things sound much better. As...

    Paradigm PDR 10 question

You want to be careful with running the receivers sub setting maxed out as some will start to clip the output at high levels.

Subwoofer prodcues WAY more bass when I press on the speaker (unorthodox setup)

Its possible you have them wired out of phase, so when they are playing they are canceling each other, when you stop one cone the cancellation is reduced.

    Funk Audio Line Array

Besides these were not designed to produce bass, they were intended for use with sub woofers from the start. This was more an experiment to see what they could do. There was a lot of low end boost applied. And I must say they did quite well.

    Funk Audio Line Array

This is in a very large room, around 7000 cubic feet, at that speaker location has basically no room gain. And even though the distortion is much higher in the bass region it's still only around 10 percent. At about 4 meters I would not consider 85 db modest. I could not do that level sweep...

    Funk Audio Line Array

Steve. When we turned up that one drum track I forgot to tell you we were hitting peaks of 130 db at the listening position, I'll let you tell everyone how far away that is from the speakers. And they do image amazingly well with a sense of depth to the soundstage better than anything I have...

How Do You Buy High-End Speakers?

I was just about to say, when we say "measurements" people only seem to think about frequency response, while that is one of many, there are several that are at least as important(if not more). It has been touched on here already but how the speaker interacts with the room is very important, and...

How Do You Buy High-End Speakers?

There is no problem if you are listening "to the speakers" and they make you happy, however if you want to listen "to the music" as it was intended the recorded measurements can show you how faithfully the speakers can reproduce the recording. But you have to know how to read the measurements...

    Funk Audio Line Array

We do have a four channel 500watts/ch with alldsp rack amp, a bit higher cost than the built in option(for a pair of two way speakers) but find a comparable quality amp with that much power and a 64bit DSP system for less than $2800. And like c2K says we can do nearly anything you can imagine...

    Funk Audio Line Array

The drivers are the same as used in the 6.1.P. Yes the small holes are for screws, the tweeters are mounted to the back of the plate, and the midbass drivers get sandwiched between the cabinet and the plate, same idea as the 8.2.P and 6.1.P and 8.7.P. Sorry no grills here

    Funk 18.0C On Data-Bass

The passive version tests shows what the sub can do with massive(powersoft K10) power available, the tests basically show that the built in amp for that driver in the 18.0C provides all the power the driver needs to reach its limits 40hz down, and that with more power it can have more output...
