    Feeler post: 3.1 Sierra's + Outlaw

Thank you Fuzz. Not sure this matters but admins can kill this thread as I've decided to keep the towers. I'll split the center and sub out per Fuzz's direction going forward.

    Feeler post: 3.1 Sierra's + Outlaw

Original owner, nonsmoker, carefully treated, I have no idea how to write these posts well. This system was planned for me to use but resulted in heavy kid programming: Backyardagans, Frozen, Vegetales, etc. usage. Sierra Towers + matching NrT center = $2200 Sierra Towers + matching NrT center...

Thanks @bikemig, I missed the boat on the Peachtree refurb but the Imagine minis made it onto my list.

Sierra Towers with matching NrT center in silicon valley

I am going to keep the system after all. Moving it will be a pain but not as much as replacing it. Thanks for viewing. Is there some way to "close" a thread?

Sierra Towers with matching NrT center in silicon valley

I will let the set go for $3,000 even. Depending on where you are I might drop off. Pick up preferred.

Sierra Towers with matching NrT center in silicon valley

This is a feeler for people who want these speakers locally. I've got them and they're wonderful. Should I move them to my new locale or sell them? I love 'em but moving them incurs risk. They are in 9/10 condition with daily, low volume usage of on demand children's programming. Yes I pushed...

    Moving your speakers cross country

This is self funded move insofar as it's our owned companies paying our costs. It's not a throwaway number. Yes, taxes, etc. but still. Ascend got back to me about their shipping materials and they're unsurprisingly expensive and fair. Not yet certain if I'm crafting my own solution or not…

We are using a full service mover ala. Allied, Mayflower, etc. It will be a semi for sure.

    Moving your speakers cross country

I searched the forums and couldn't find anything appropos. If this is the wrong place to post please let me know. We are moving cross country in 2 months and I need advice on packing my Sierra towers and center. No, I do not have the original packaging. I have contacted them about purchasing...

Jeebus. When people ask me how I make websites for a living, this is why. If they want a real website I can barter for their badass wares... a wink is as good as a nudge to a blind bat, right?

New office bookshelf recco in 2.1 config

I just sent an email to Philharmonic about their el cheapo monitors and the Philharmonitors. I realize I'm all over the place here, bear with me: • Speakers rest on desktop, preferably <25# each. • Sub likely Hsu STF-2 to make room in budget for better speakers. • Budget is lower in short term...

New office bookshelf recco in 2.1 config

Haha sorry I was mixing my messages. The speakers will rest upon Auralex pads or Iso stands upon a large desktop surface, flanking a 30" monitor. The surrounding walls are all built in wooden bookshelves.

I did not see a desktop set up but that amp looks great. How does one price James gear? It's a "trade" retailer no?

New office bookshelf recco in 2.1 config

Now I'm digging into the true differences between monitors (near field, powered) vs. "hifi" bookshelf speakers. For my purposes accuracy is less important than ease of listening and decent off axis response. I'm not mixing down multichannel tracks here, I just really love music at almost every...

New office bookshelf recco in 2.1 config

In terms of the desktop requirement I have a sit/stand arrangement where I move the workstation up and down during the day. I was planning to mitigate the muddiness with some IsoAcoustics doodads. I will swing by Guitarcenter and demo some nearfields I can actually afford. The ones my buddies...

New office bookshelf recco in 2.1 config

Hi everyone! First off thanks for helping me build up my main 3.1 system. It's wonderful: Ascend Sierra towers + matching Sierra-1 NrT, Outlaw LFM1-EX, Onkyo NR709. I may upgrade to 5.1 in the future, but that's another post... My new, permanent office needs a system. The speakers will rest on...

Powering Ascend Sierras with room to grow, need advice!

Thread not dead! One thousand thank yous for your help. We are now rocking Ascend Sierra Towers with a matching Sierra-1 NrT center, Outlaw LF1-EX, and aforementioned Marantz 5004. The Sierras were a revelation. They will let you know how music was mixed/produced: I would not call them...
