Denon Announces AVR-3806 and AVR-4306 Receivers!

To bad they didn't include source/function renaming on the 4306. But the ethernet port for setup is nice. I didn't think the Analog Devices chip in the 3806 had the horsepower to do the Audyssey MultEq system..?

My guess would be that they aren't either...I can't see them adding IEEE1394 and HDMI...?

New Denon Product Announcements & Conference

The 3805 has always been DL3 capable, it's the DVDPs that have needed the upgrade from DL2 to DL3. Receiving the data has never been the problem, it's been getting the okay to send it.

New Denon Product Announcements & Conference

I apologize if my demeanor seems a bit rough but I was reflecting on the fact that the question has been asked about 5 times in this thread, early in the thread in fact in an effort to enable you folks to ask the question of the Denon folks while you were still with them. You've noted that...

New Denon Product Announcements & Conference

Good question, but I guess we have to assume they don't have any idea as every question about it in this thread has been completely ignored. A simple, "I haven't a clue" would work for me, but ignoring the questions completely is annoying. Especially when you note that a response was given to a...

Maybe you can ask Denon what the hold-up is with Denon Link 3 for the US market..? It's been available in Germany for about 6 weeks..

    Denon 3805 Ext.In & Delay Time

In the 2200 manual, it talks about it on pages 30-33. I can't find it in the 3805 manual, but this setup document for using a 5900 with a 3805 talks about it. Just disregard the part about Denon Link. http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdfs/5900_3805%20setup%20tips.pdf 5900_3805 setup...

    Denon 3805 Ext.In & Delay Time

Correct, set the 3805 to 0.0 and then set the levels with the 2200. I can't swear to it as it's been awhile since I've used a 2200, but the delay settings should be by channel. If it was global for all channels there wouldn't be any point.

    Denon 3805 Ext.In & Delay Time

The 3805 will not do time delay on the EXT Inputs. You'll need to set your distances with the 2200. Should also set speaker levels with the 2200 as well.

    RFI Rejection

About the only thing they're good for is to keep unused jacks free from crud and dust for a time when you plan to use them. And they look cool... :D

    denon 3805 eq parameter

That's correct. The Auto-EQ adjusts the frequencies using a parametric EQ. These are not user adjustable. Only the set-band graphic EQ can be adjusted.

Firewire connection (on e.g. Denon AVRs)

The Mits TV implementation will accept a video signal from any Motorola cable box equipped with a IEEE1394 output. It can use the signal or even pass it on to another device. That's the beuty of IEEE1394, you can daisy-chain devices together, that's why you'll always see two of the ports in...

Firewire connection (on e.g. Denon AVRs)

This was answered by Anonymous. IEEE1394 will transport Dolby Digital, DTS, DVD-A, SACD and Redbook audio among others along with video streams, depends on the application. As you say, it's a transport protocol, and currently those audio formats mentioned above can all be sent over a...

Firewire connection (on e.g. Denon AVRs)

Denon Link does not carry SACD. The IEEE1394(firewire) interface is the only digital interface that will carry all modes of digital audio currently available. IEEE1394 is an industry standard, whereas Denon Link is proprietary. IEEE1394 does not do all those conversions, it takes the...

    Denon DVD-3910 DVD Player Review

It makes sense, late 2006 would be when equipment spec'ed with SACD 2.0 will probably hit the market. As far as current Denon equipment passing SACD over Denon Link, they have been trying to get approval since 2003, so I wouldn't hold your breath...

    Denon DVD-3910 DVD Player Review

It sounds like you are missing a step when setting this up. The switch between all signals that DL transports and what you get on the Ext Inputs is seamless when everything is set up right. When I first setup my 5900 with the 3805 it took 3 times to get it right, but once done it works great...
