    Terrible looking projection - Fixable?

The white color appears to be yellow... so then you will have to replace the polarizers... that is the solution to get the proper color..

    Replacing Polarizers

You can replace the Blue Polarizer. On a LCD PJ there is usually 6 polarizers. 3 IN Polarizers (one for each color...RGB) and 3 OUT Polarizers (again, one for each color...RGB). The blue polarizer that usually goes bad is the BLUE IN Polarizer. It is usually a fifteen minute or job to replace...

    Panny AE4000u or Epson 8100

There is a 500 dollr price difference as well. For the money the 8100 is super. I am considering it myself as the 4000 is out of budget. Mounting flexibility are great for both. I suppose the 8100 would handle ambient light situations a bit better based on brightness numbers...If you are like me...

Difference between low and high end projector

The only difference would be the amount of "screen door effect" if you sat closer than 1.2-1.5 screen widths away. I would generally say a quality 720p projector is better than a lesser brand 1080p.

    Optoma HD20 DLP Projector Review

Black level on the HD20 is only middling, as the projector lacks an auto-iris and has a fairly bright lamp, black areas of an image can sometimes appear very dark grayish.......

    Sony VPL-HW15, Any Thoughts?

Sony's new HW15 is their lowest-priced 1080p projector yet released. Despite the price, Sony has made few compromises regarding image quality and feature set...:o

    Panny AE4000u or Epson 8100

I'm sure any of these two units are 4 out of 5 stars overall all day...However, if you are looking for a good bright image (important if you have ambient light) and won't use the extra features, then the 8100 might suit you better...But it is probably a 3.5 star out of 5...overall when compared...

Best Front Projector for less than $8,000???

As wonderful as the LTX 500 is, there were a few minor areas that I took issue with. For starters, the LTX 500 takes a fair amount of time to warm up or even begin to produce an image and the initial signal lock is a bit sluggish. Once warmed up and locked on the LTX 500 is rock solid, however...
