Once again: what are you listening to now?

The Keith Emerson Band featuring Marc Bonilla. The same Keith Emerson from Emerson, Lake, and Palmer.

    Resident Evil: Afterlife (new thread)

I rank this one at the bottom. It wasn't anything special at all, except maybe the audio. The story was weak and the CGI was weak. The same old zombie scenes that have been done to death. There really wasn't much to this movie at all. Definitely a rental, even with the good audio track.

Nice Problem, But Will This Help

You might want to use some bass traps. That could even-out your sound a bit. It might bring some of those highs out that you are missing. Just a thought.

    Your first stereo

Back in th 70's a got a hand me down stereo. It was a Stereophonic with AM/FM, 8Track, in one unit and a separate turntable. It came with two "air suspension" speakers with I believe a single 6 1/2" or 8". I thought it sounded great. It was stolen in a breakin after about 4 years (high school)...

Where do you find new music?

I usually hear about different titles on forums or sometimes look thru some Amazon's listomania's. After I hear about a title I'm interested in I then find a website where I can sample some of it and then make my decision whether I think it might be worth purchasing. I usually make the right...

    $2000 MCINTOSH Wall Clock

Totally nuts. The two readouts look ridiculous in my opinion. Way to simple looking, not elegant or even interesting. I'll give it a big thumbs down.

    Vibration causing disc to skip

If you really want to go cheap and have decent look try using foam waterpipe insulaters. I've used them in the past under subs and they work suprisingly well. Good luck.

    Ascend Acoustics 5.0 speaker set

Would you consider selling just the 340 center alone? I already have L/R 340's.

Just bought a Realistic STEREO 8-Track Player Any Thoughts and or Opinions?

I remember going to a local flea market to get bootleg 8-tracks for almost nothing (about 1/4 of what brand name tapes cost). Also the trusty matchbook wedged in the deck to keep it tracking correctly. I owned one deck with a fine tuning knob that moved the head up and down to adjust it. I also...

Once again: what are you listening to now?

Jackson Browne- remastered "Running on Empty". Extremely well mastered. It has great sound. I'm playing it on 7.1 system and the separation is great. The sound stage sounds very lifelike. I'm impressed.

    Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Definitely not just a teen chick movie. I'm a male (definitely much older than a teen) and I enjoyed this movie very much. The audio is excellent with some good LFE. I would have to say that this is a "must see" movie in my book. I would actually consider purchasing this blu-ray. Just watch it...

    THE EXPENDABLES (Blu-ray; Lionsgate/Millenium Films/Nu Image)

Good shoot-um up flick. I loved Crews' auto shotgun and the sound that it made. Overall it was a mindless, entertaining, action movie that was worth watching.

Best hip hop and urban music

I refer to hip-hop and rap as a type of visual entertainment moreso than actual music. It seems to be more of a combination of noises, samplings, and jestures instead of a cohesive melody. Just my opinion, so don't get bent out of shape over this.
