    New subwoofer recomendations

Well, honestly 5 years ago when I bought that sub, I didn't know a whole hell of a lot. That was the first system I put together. With the output that I was getting from the Onkyo TX-NR617 at the time it worked pretty well for the 5 years I had it. When the HDMI board went out and I upgraded...

    New subwoofer recomendations

I just bought a new Onkyo TX-NR818. When setting the Audessey room calibration it had me set my subwoofer at 75dB. I was able to set my HSU STF-1 to that level, but during some BluRay discs the bass becomes distorted. Therefore I guess I am in the market for a new sub. I chose the smallest...

Need help with my Xonar HDAV 1.3 Slim w/KMplayer

No nothing wrong with playback although I wonder sometimes if the sound is done properly. On my TMT3 the True HD and Master HD are pretty loud, sounds great. On my KMplayer, playing MKV files with DTS the sound is considerably lower and I have to turn my receiver up pretty hight to get...

HTPC Audio - Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim

problem solved... I stupidly did not change my Onkyo input settings from the old DVD player that was running to it prior to my HTPC. Once I reassigned just the HDMI from the HTPC to the Onkyo I can bitstream true HD files through TMT3. Woohoo!

HTPC Audio - Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim

I have tried all of the setting recommended to me thus far and to no avail. When I use these settings I get sound, but no readout as far as DTS, DOLBY Digital, etc on the Onkyo. Here are screenshots of the settings and a jpg from the Onkyo showing just (PCM Multichannel HDMI Audessey)...

HTPC Audio - Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim

I am curious if there is a tutorial for setting up the Xonar to work with TotalMedia Theater 3 or Media PLayer Classic? I am new to this and don't know too much on the subject just yet. I have sound, but my Onkyo always just reads PCM and I have it on Multichannel. I never see other modes...

    I need a fan...

I finally put my HTPC together and headed off to America for a much needed holiday. While there I picked up a Scythe Katana fan for it and brought it back to Japan only to find out that it is too damn tall for my Antec NSK2480 case. Any other fans out there that you'd reccomend which would...

    setting up

No you're right, they are modes that I select. I do not, however remember it saying LPCM. It says whatever mode I last selected when I was using movie/music setting. If I should be operating it while it is saying LPCM, how do I go about doing that? Thanks as always for your ongoing help. -Sam

    setting up

But whenever I select CBL/SAT, which is where my HTPC HDMI inputs to, it asks me which mode to set for movies. It's strange in that before I could use certain presets such as Dolby PLIIz, but with the Xonar I cannot even see that feature anymore on the Onkyo. Is that because my system is only...
