I think you will find that these subs compare very closely to each other across all those areas. If you can find a better deal on one vs the other you should buy it.

I think a 6 year old sub could be pushing it.. I would say get the newer SVS sub if you plan on adding a second. Lots of benefits of having dual subs in your room aside from just more output. Another option is to spend a little more and get something even beefier.
