A few thoughts for the OP I have most the amps listed here and they are all fine I would get emotiva or monolith for a normal ab amp on the new market. If you go used you can cut the price in half with some shopping on hifishark, but no warranty etc. Noisy amps for me have always been power...

My opinion is we are way past the point of diminishing returns with higher end Denons and the like vs direct connect or separate processors. Could probably tune the sound with an extra bass trap more than all the cables and processors combined...I have tried Denon 4311, Onkyo 905, Emo UMC...

Jeff I would consider doing 2 things: -reset every device you have to defaults and check every connection to be nice and snug (this has solved every issue ever except when you have actually blown a driver...which would be 1 time out of 100 for me) -blown tweeter is usually a gap in sound...
