    Connect laptop audio to TV

Thanks again. I did connect both the video and the audio through the RF modulator though and so both the sound and the video was supposed to go in through the coaxial input. But the digital/analog issue might just be the problem. I will try finding if there is such an option, as I do believe...

    Connect laptop audio to TV

Hi guys, Thanks for your posts. Actually, the problem is that I have got the thing all set up (and even though the TV does not have S-video the RF modulator acts as a S-video to A/V convertor) and the video output is fine. But there is no audio when I connect the TV either directly or through...

    Connect laptop audio to TV

I was trying to set up the laptop such that I can watch movies using the TV. I have tried multiple laptops, and the TV has A/V inputs and antenna input but no S-video. These are the two ways I have tried to set up the whole system: **|------------------------>S-video--->|...

Cannot increase volume more than 50- Onkyo TX-SR602

I have purchased a used Onkyo TX-SR602. It is supposed to have a volume range of 0-100, but it reads MAX at 50 and will not go any higher. And 50 is not that high at all. I wonder if there was some programming that set this upper limit and if I can undo it. Please advise. Thanks a lot for your time.

    Finding a remote for TX-SR602

I have purchased a used TX-SR602 without a remote. The one for the model, RC590M sells for $ 53 new, and I would prefer a cheaper, used remote. So can I use the receiver with a different remote? Or would a universal remote be adequate? Please help me with this, and as always thanks a ton for...

How to connect passive speaker to AV receiver

That is a very sound advice- indeed, the sub seems to be a liability. I will wait two months to hear bass- it wouldn't be too bad... :P

How to connect passive speaker to AV receiver

I certainly do not wish to blow up my receiver! OMG! So there is really no way other than to get an amp between the receiver and the sub? I was going to buy a better speaker system later- so it would be pointless to buy an amplifier for powering a crappy passive sub for two months! I wonder if I...

How to connect passive speaker to AV receiver

Thanks a lot for your helpful post. I really appreciate it. I am afraid I don't know what a crossover is. I googled it, and it seems to say that some subs have a crossover control, etc. This one doesn't have ANY control on it. It just has a couple of speaker wires (red and black) coming out of...

How to connect passive speaker to AV receiver

Hi I have bought a used Onkyo TX-SR602 and I had got a set of old el-cheapo Home theater speakers from a friend that I plan to use before I move to my own place. Now the speakers are 15W passive and the sub is 50W passive. The output of the receiver is 85W per channel, so I was wondering if...
