    12 volt trigger question?

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know who can make a trigger cable up for me. I have the onkyo 885 pre/pro with the 12 volt trigger outs and need it to go to a DB 25 on my AT1505. I could make one but it would look like crap. I would rather have a professional looking cable.

Newbe to home audio...Any suggestions on Integra 8.9 setup?

IF you keep the amp set at 80 of below you will keep the lower voices out if your sub. If like most your sub is set off center when a vocal comes into the program you don't want your attention drawn to the sub. Even 80 is a bit high but it is what THX wants. I prefer 50 or 60 if your front...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

I got it from Onkyo so it should be up to date. Where is the firmware version. On the case?

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

Hi. I have only hooked it up long enough to make sure everything was working as I had to put My Mom in a nursing home and I am going to move my stuff over the her house. It is mine but she has life rights to live there. Now that she can't take care of herself I am going to move out of a mobile...

I knew the Onkyo 875 ran hot but dang !

I just bought the SC885P pre/pro and for something that does not have an amp in it, it runs real hot it even runs hotter then my AT1505 AMP if I am not really kicking it. I always left a good but of room around my TS777 because of the heat but since 2000 I had had no problems from it. IF the...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

OK thanks I will give that a try. I did have them fairly close when I tried it. It maybe I am reading the directions wrong LOL , I spend the last 40 years on and off the rd working as a sound engineer all the way up to producer and tech directer and can't get a remote to sync up.

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

The problem I am having with it is having it learn another remote. I still can't get my TIVO into it, I can get it to take codes but need to get the learning function down, MY old Onkyo remote was a Pita too but after having it set for all these years it does whatever I want, But I would have to...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

Finally found some more codes supplied for the 805 which gave me the code for the CATV Box. That makes it a bit easier to live with. I have had the 777 for so long just getting the feel for a new remote is a pain but hopefully worth it with this 885

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

I wish I had seen that price, I paid a bit more then that. still good. But then no matter what you buy it will come up somewhere/time cheaper. One thing I don't like so far is this new remote. I had my old 777 well broken in. I think it is time for a new all in one like the Harmony One maybe...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

Well I went a head and ordered the Onkyo pre/pro wed. it arrived today. Now for the fun set up time, this has a lot more to it compared to the 777 I have been using, I will actually have to read the manual to get the best out of it. Thanks for the feedback.

Best Buy Adopts Circuit City Success Plan

I have to agree if you just want to look around and talk with people that know less then a 10 year old Best buy is a great place. OK a little harsh but you all know what I mean. It is hard to beat a ID store that has bee in the same spot for 20+ years the owners are the sales people and while...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

Thanks for all the input. I have used Onkyo for 15 years and on model 777 now, with out any problems. It just does not have the sound nor guts needed I am looking for with my XT$4 B&W speakers. I am using an AT1501 amp which I picked up very cheap with the 777 outputs till I can find the right...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

While reading reviews about the Onkyo At the end under cons it says you can not over ride the 4:3 stretch version to normal 4:3 if I am reading it right. Can some one with the unit tell how the unit plays the 4:3. IT is normal or messed up? I am new to the wide screen TVs but do want to watch...

    Onkyo SC885P or Emo UMC-1

while I have time to wait. The Onkyo sounds like it has a decent following. I have always liked Onkyo and have a 777 driving my AT1505 amp right now. Just want to make sure I get a decent Pre.Pro and I can get a reburb Onkyo for 800 and 2 years warranty.

    Working on new HT

I don't use receivers but will take a look at the Outlaw brand and see what king of Pre/Pro's they have. I am going to go with separates because sound comes first with me and unless you are willing to spend 5000 for the big stuff out there it is just not worth it to me. After 40 years in running...

    Working on new HT

Hi, new to this forum but looking into upgrading my HT. Right now I have an Onkyo 777 and got a real deal on an AT1505 AMP (150Watts high AMP output). The 777 was not powerful enough to drive the XT4 B&W Speakers I have on the front and the ATI brought them to life. I use the pre outs from the...
