    Onkyo 805 in a rack

My Rack Solution will be not enclosed but in a closet and the Rcvr will be on the top. Sounds like a fan solution will suit my needs. Thanks As a side question, I heard in this thread and others on this forum to stay away from the Onkyo 805 due to the heat problems. I would be interested...

    Onkyo 805 in a rack

The 805 does run hot but it is thermally stable to run that way. Making it hotter by restricting vents make things troublesome. Going back to the fans, would you lay these Fan(s) on the top of the receiver flat with a rubber feet to stabilize it? Would I orient the fan to pull air out or push...

    Onkyo 805 in a rack

Hi all, I have just framed out and attached these Middle Atlantic Rack Rails into the wall to create a Built in Rack chassis. The front will look like a flush mount cabinet and will back into a closet under the stairs. There is no rack case surrounding the components. Here is my concern...

    Thoughts on this Speakercraft set-up

I will call SVS in the morning thanks.... One last question... in you opinion, how would you say these speakers will perform against the likes of equally priced stand-alone speakers like the Paradigm atom, Def Tech BP6B, Aperion 533, etc.? I know I will not expect the same performance for...

    Thoughts on this Speakercraft set-up

Thanks for your fast replies! I will look for another Sub and I will price out the same center as the sides AIM LCR3s. I will also look for a Sub from HSU, AV123, or SVS. 1) Can I expect to have a decent sounding theater with this set-up (in a general sense). Meaning these should be better...

    Wall/Ceiling Mounts for HEAVY speakers

Cannot speak on this subject but did go and made a visit to the Aperion show room and they sell a black, cradle system for Centers that was holding a heavy center. You can see it at the Aperionaudio.com site under audio accesories.

    Thoughts on this Speakercraft set-up

I have a Theater Home installation guy who is offering me a fairly good deal on a 7.1 speaker set-up. This is for a 13x26 room but only the front 13x13 will be focused on the theater set up. Does anyone have any comments regarding this set-up? Movies are the overwhelming priority with a few...

    Fitting cabinet for Onkyo 805

Thanks, EJ1. I just took a look at BDI and found that they are around 19 inches. Tight but it is possible. Those Avion units are nice. Scared to see the price  This dimension thing may push me over to the Denon Line. I cannot beleive I am making my receiver decision based on what...

    Fitting cabinet for Onkyo 805

Sorry about that. Yes, Depth is the concern. The Onkyo 805 is 18 1/8 inches. The Sanus is almost 19" The salamander Synergy is only 18 inches.

    Fitting cabinet for Onkyo 805

Looking for a lowboy triple wide cabinet that can house the Onkyo 805. The Salamander and Sanus Brands appear to be too tight. I want to avoid having things hanging out the back as our hallway walks right past the side. <Sorry if this is not the right forum for this question>

Paradigm vs Def Tech 5.1 dillema

Thank you Nick1000000 The Dealer also suggested that I upgrade the Sub. I do not have his recommendation with me but I beleive he mentioned a DSP 10? from Paradigm. I beleive he said they are brand new but I don't find them on the web. I will need to call them. Glad to hear the Mini...

Paradigm vs Def Tech 5.1 dillema

Thanks for your your comments, GlocksRock Your suggestion of beefing up the Fronts and saving in the surrounds is a good suggestion. I will go to the dealer and try that option out. Do you beleive that the ProCenter 200 will still match nicely with this system? Going up to the C/L/R 2002...

Paradigm vs Def Tech 5.1 dillema

Enjoy this forum. Learned a lot! Thanks I am looking for a $2000 dollar 5.1 speaker system. Movies/sports are number 1 priority. The room is a 13x26 with only 13x13 used for movies. (The back half will be used for general purpose and will be able to watch movies/sports from afar) I...
