    FS: 9 x Western Digital WF1001FALS 1 TB Drives - Asking $550

I am selling my array of 9 Western Digital WF1001FALS 1 TB Drives. These are from the high performance "Black" series. Take a look at Newegg's page to get a feel for the reputation that these drives have. These are all about 1 year old, and have been very well take care of. The attached...

9 x Western Digital WD1001FALS 1 TB Hard Drives (Good for HTPC Array) - Asking $600

I have a set of 9 Western Digital WD1001FALS 1 TB hard drives for sale. These are from the WD Black line, which is the performance-oriented line from WD. They are currently formatted to ext3, and I currently have about 300+ Blu-Ray discs backed on to them. Since I've only been using these to...

    Need receiver: Onkyo TX-sr876

Sounds like a shady operation to me. None of those payment methods offer any recourse for disputing the transaction if anything goes wrong.

Apple iPhones it in with iPad

You have to admit, it IS disappointing to see so much potential go down the toilet. Apple obviously was not looking at what consumers want when they developed this thing. I would have paid double for a device like this that actually caters to my desires and needs, and not those of Apple...

How do you track your DVDs?

I use Collectorz Movie Collector. About 2 years ago the came out with a new version that would not use any database except theirs, which I really don't like. I never upgraded and use the older version, which I think is superior. XBMC also does a nice job of cataloging media on my computer.

    $6800 Speaker Cable...WTF????

The reviews on the Amazon product page are hilarious:

    Low price media devices

I agree that it looks nice, but it's nowhere near as smooth as XBMC.

    Low price media devices

My issue with Popcorn Hour is the fact that they continue to advertise capabilities that they don't have. If they put an * next to them and said, "Coming soon," then I would be cool with it, but the way it is right now they are flat out not telling the truth. Prior to the C-200 I was a big...

    Low price media devices

I had a C-200 and got rid of it in disgust. I have an older A-110 which works fine. It doesn't do everything I would like it to, but it does work as advertised.

    Low price media devices

Based on my experience with the last Popcorn Hour model, I would rather get kicked in the testicles then give them any more of my money and deal with their buggy pre-alpha crapware.

More reliable projector - new panasonic or epson?

I don't think you'll get any data on reliability beyond the anecdotal, but Epsons do have the better warranty.

The DVD / Blu-ray RentalGate Scandal

BTW, I am not advocating piracy - just for putting your movies on a hard drive.

The DVD / Blu-ray RentalGate Scandal

    1) Because if it's on your hard drive you can go straight to the movie without the stupid forced previews (thank you AnyDVD HD). 2) Because if it's on your hard drive it's a hell of a lot harder for your wife to loan it out the the lady that has already borrowed 20 movies and not returned a...

Don't Discount the Value of a Good Warranty My recent (bad) experience with Optoma and their HD65 taught me the value of a good warranty backed by a reputable manufacturer. Don't discount the value of this.

    New Media Player Hardware

Don't Believe the Hype - It's a Hunk of Junk As a follow-up to my original post, I bought the C-200 several months ago. I had planned on doing a review, and have been waiting for a decent FW build to do so with, but that doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon. In my experience thus far this...

    NHT and Audioquest cables

I would disagree with you on that third point. If marketing a $500 directional Ethernet cable does not bring a company's credibility into question, I don't know what will.

    Good projector for under $3000??

Panasonic PT-AE3000 is now down to $2K. It used to be closer to $3K. That leaves $1K for a nice screen.

    Vlc

I've never had good luck with VLC. Try XBMC. It uses MPlayer, which I've never had a problem with.
