    Paramount plus picture is WOW!

Those are 4K SDR. Paramount+ has stepped up their HDR offerings. The Game and the two live-action Star Trek shows are both in 1080p HDR. They have several movies in 4K HDR (with Atmos). Guilty Party and the Good Fight are also in 4K HDR. Unlike most streaming services, they support HDR10...

2021 Denon Receivers with Three 8K HDMI Inputs < $700

Hopefully you will give an article/preview/full review to at least one of the new Onkyo receivers that were recently announced, too.

    Paramount plus picture is WOW!

Out of the 1080p streamers, I think Peacock has the best quality. For 4K, it's Netflix for me despite having a Samsung TV. (Full disclosure: I don't have AppleTV+ anymore. That actually might be better.) Please note that there are 4k Smithsonian shows on Paramount+.

Should Home Theater Embrace Gaming to Save the Industry?

So, the mass market receivers below $1000 will remain the same? [emoji57] I doubt that this will be the case for any flagship receivers. Sent using Tapatalk

ATSC 3.0: Cord Cutter’s Dream or Tiered Internet Nightmare?

Check out TVFool.com or AntennaWeb.org We have ATSC 3.0 in my area, but I don't have a capable tuner. Several people on AVS have reported that the PQ is actually WORSE for the stations that are broadcasting ATSC 3.0 vs their 1.0 signal.

Should Home Theater Embrace Gaming to Save the Industry?

QLED is also better for larger displays. OLED's top out at 83"/88". QLED's top out at 85"/98" (or 100" if you just go with 4K Sony). QLEDs also get you to that 4000 nit mark for HDR. OLEDs (even the A90J once ABL kick in) usually top out around 900 nits (still impressive but not 2000/3000/4000...

The Marantz AV7705 Surround Processor/Pre-Amplifier Giveaway is Here!

Actually, I prefer receivers. That said, I would use my old HK AVR 247 as an amp if I were to win this sweet, sweet gear.

Amazon Fire TV Cube to Replace Your Remote Controls?

Not gotta have it! The 4K stick can do everything the cube can do plus one more HDR codec. Jacob, please reconsider your conclusion on this one.

    The Expanse

They advertised season 3 quite a bit. I've heard nothing about season 4. They advertised the heck out of Jack Ryan four months ago. I'm sure that faucet will flow with gusto in another month or two. I just realized the AH filter modified "Richard" to something else. Sigh...

    The Expanse

Amazon is flakier than Netflix when it comes to killing shows. Even AMC, HBO and FX have more loyalty. I know they are the front-runner. But, I have little trust in their desire to allow a lowly-rated expensive show or even a lowly-rated cheap show ("I Love lord helmet", "Good Girls Revolt", "One...

    The Expanse

The best purchaser would be YouTube Red. Google has a ton of money, and YTR needs quality original content. Hulu and CBS are possibilities, but they are US only. It's better that the show gets a worldwide distributor.

Next Generation AV Receivers Won't Allow Non-Native Upmixing?

They're so petty that they're restricting the basic 384K format used by HDTV? If Logic 7 weren't dead in new processors, I might care. DTS Surround would be affected. So, one will be forced to use ProLogic/its modern derivatives for upmixing?

Lexicon finally releasing HDCP 2.2 compatible receivers

It looks like Lexicon is finally coming out with Atmos/HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compatible receivers (and one processor). Of course, they really look like reskinned Arcam receivers. But, it's something. Lexicon RV-9 https://www.lexicon.com/productdetail/~/product/rv-9.html is probably an Arcam AVR...

What on earth happened to Harman?

I don't just mean HK. I mean all of Harman. I know they were acquired by Samsung, but HK has no receivers supporting HDR. Lexicon has no processors supporting HDMI 2/HDR. Mark Levinson doesn't even seem to make multichannel processors anymore. Infinity can't really decide where they want to be...

Is ONKYO producing JUNK these days?

I wouldn't put Yamaha on a pedestal. I returned a TX NR626 and bought a Yamaha Aventage 7 series. After a year or so it started producing audio hiccups at random. All brands have problems. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

RBH HP-1B Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Review

I wonder how these compare to the Hardon Karmon BT headphones. These RBH ones have a lower MSRP, but look similar. (The HK's are routinely available for $129 refurb'd on Amazon.)

    RBH - Ribbon Tweeters

I fell in love with ribbons when hearing BG Radias back in 2007. (It's been that long?) Ironically, I went to that dealer wanting to hear some RBH speakers because of a review I read on Audioholics!

Time for yet another new sub $1k mains thread

Alex, you're still around? I have knocked my Infinity towards down at least 20 times. (Speaker abuse!) Kurt, those Boston Acoustics look ingtriguing. I'm still going to work on upgrading the mains later this year. Maybe I'll skip getting a Note 6 for my birthday and put that towards a matching...

    Help...Receiver acting up

I'm having a similar problem with my not so cheap A720. FYI, it will get worse to the point where it will only work perfectly for 30 seconds or so before repeating the drop-outs. The latest firmware update didn't help. It's likely a hardware issue as the other person said.
