    I don't think Sony "gave up" on SACD....more like they pulled back their efforts once the mass market rejected SACD. Sony still owns and operate 2 of the 3 SACD pressing facilities in the world (in Austria and Japan) and regularly releases new SACDs in Japan directly through its music division...

    I love the CD! Never really counted how many I have....roughly 3,000? Another 1,300 SACDs? The death of CD is greatly exaggerated. Tens of millions are still sold each year. Don't forget that the world's second biggest music market, Japan, still sell 70+% of its music on CD.

    The last 3 years have been big years for SACD, in terms of new releases. There were about 2,500 new SACD releases worldwide in those 3 years. Btw, those 2 Pink Floyd SACDs will be re-released later this year by Analogue Productions.
