I'd like to point out that these are refurbished speakers, but still: <$200 each?! That's a great deal.

Separation of Church and Games?
I'm not sure how I feel on this matter. I'm a pretty strong Christian, but I also enjoy playing a good FPS (yea Halo!). Churches have been used in video games and movies in the past as 'battlegrounds', and to me it adds a bit of interesting variety to the levels. As I have not played...

WTB: DTS Demo #9
I'm interested in purchasing the DTS Demo #9 DVD (English version) if anyone has it and is looking to sell it. I've been looking for the DVD on eBay over the past few weeks, but I haven't seen it for less than ~$55 shipped; for me that's just way too expensive.

Denon setup help
Yeah, you definitely want all the speakers set to small, that way the sub will handle all the bass. 80 Hz is a good starting point for your crossover, but play around with the setting a bit just to see if another frequency would sound even better. It doesn't really matter whether you select...

surround setup like this?
I'm not too sure how much of a difference that would actually make, but if you have the extra components, there's certainly no harm in giving what you suggested a try. I'm not sure why the Denon display is showing what it is; I've heard of a few 9.1 processors out there, but since no sources...

Pretty Small Room
Usually, I would agree, but there are some pretty decent HTIBs out there now, and with the room size you have, you don't need anything huge. I definitely agree that you should go 5.1 over stereo--it makes a huge difference with gaming. The Denon DHT-487DV and its earlier models have received...

All Mine
I love the look of the room; seems like it would get good WAF. My only suggestion would be your center channel: I can't really tell from the picture, but it looks like it's flat on its stand. If it is, tilting it up slightly so that it aims directly at ear level will help deliver the sound...

Mazer, just out of curiosity, are you refering to the HSU HB-1 Horns, the Ventriloquist system, or both? The HB-1 has been getting some pretty decent reviews, especially with HT use, so I was just wondering what your impressions of them were.

KEF iQ Series 5.1 Speaker System Review
Haha, I know exactly what you mean: my first pair of speakers were those exact ones! They were originally my mother's, but she never used them anymore so she let me hook them up to my very first stereo system. ...I still use them occasionally as a sort of "zone 2."

New HT Speaker Advice
I have two suggestions: First, I wouldn't spend >$400 dollars on surrounds with your budget. I would take the extra money I'm saving on the surrounds and put that toward better, more expensive mains. Your center channel budget should be fine. Secondly, I know you want towers, but at least...

BlackSite Area 51...WOW
Gametrailers.com posted some gameplay footage a couple weeks ago; looks pretty sweet. I'm still a Halo fanboy, though, so IMO Halo 3 will own all! J/K...but seriously. ...Though I hope the graphics are improved over the current beta build. :-/

I don't have any personal experience with it, but the SVS package has received nothing but stellar reviews around the internet. See my earlier post: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?p=246801#post246801 From what I gather, the system is ideal for movies, which would be a...

Samsung LN-S3251D vs. Sharp LC-32D43U
I agree that most LCDs are anti-glare, that is one of the main reasons I'm choosing LCD over plasma, but even some great LCDs have reflective screens, so it was good of him to point that out. For instance, CNET's highest ranked LCD, the Samsung LN-T4665F, was noted as having a "shiny...
