Inside pictures of an $8000 Mcintosh MX135 pre/pro.

Wow has the forum ever been slow! Anyways, as I said before I can trade in the MX135 for a MX136 and sell that as new instead of selling the MX135 used and losing a pile of money.

    Velodyne DD12 or Velodyne DD15

Since it is for home theater and the price difference is not a factor I would go with the DD15.

I will trade in the MX135 for the MX136 and sell as new and if that won't work then I will work my way up to the AP1000 when it comes out and go with it. I would never sell something for 50-70% off the MSRP just because it is used.

    At these prices...!

Go to xbstore.com and try to buy something that is under $650 and this comes up. I am thinking this is a 419 scam or something very close to it.

Mcintosh speakers, most overpriced on the market?

So you would rather lie about a product and say it is superior to the "name brand" store bought equipment? Why is telling the truth now days such a no no? I am trying to point out fact from fiction and I think most educated people can agree that the high end audio boys have gotten away with to...

Mcintosh speakers, most overpriced on the market?

Does it make you mad that the digital line from Mcintosh is nothing more then re badged name brand electronics? Mcintosh is not the same company when roger was still there and you should know this.

The MX135 shares a lot of the same design as the C45 pre amp so when playing 2ch the mac will out perform the yamaha.

Not in 2ch because the mac has a built in pre amp but as far as movies go the yamaha is exactly the same as the mac so there will be no difference.

Touché, nothing is perfect but the yamaha is not trying to be something it is not and they are not trying to make an insane profit off of it.

I should see if I can just order the chassis for the MX135 and stick in a yamaha receiver so I can still fool the high end crowd. No but I will be selling the mac crap and buying a yamaha or denon.

I am here to tell the truth and that usually ruins the high end fan boys day.

When I first read that article that's when I started to question what I bought so imagine how I felt when the yamaha receivers used the same DSP as my mac.

The jag was built first and there are some small trickle down effect that are integrated into the fusion but there are many many big differences.

http://edageek.com/2006/11/07/ti-aureus-audio-dsp/ I find this funny becuase the price for the DSP used in the MX135 is the same and costs the same as many other receivers yet mac charges huge amounts for theirs.

The only thing that is similar in the jag is the 3.0 engine used and who in their right mind would order a jag with a 3.0 V6? Everything else on the jag is different form the brakes, wheels, interior, body, exhaust.

The MX135 uses the digital audio engine 5 from momentum data systems at http://www.mds.com/products/product.asp?prod=DAE%2D5 and is based around the texas instruments aureus DSP. So all you have to do is find a receiver with this setup and you can have your very own MX135 for a LOT cheaper.

Wrong! How can you say something like that? Are you trying to say that becuase the mcintosh MX135 is built to a better standard that is sounds better? Ford owns mazda and jaguar so what is your point? Just becuase mazda and ford use the same basic 2.3 and 3.0 engines does not mean anything...
