    Marantz SR7005 related issues

My subwoofer already has a two prong power cable and I tried unplugging the cable box coaxial signal cable and the hum is still there. Also, I don't have any power cables crossing paths with the subwoofer signal cable.

Oh okay.... that kind of plug. No, I don't use one of those.

    Marantz SR7005 related issues

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with what a cheater plug is? I usually turn on the receiver and TV first, then the source unit. But I have tried it with the PS3 already on. The strange thing is, instead of the receiver and TV indicating no signal, the receiver just displays the Marantz logo on...

    Marantz SR7005 related issues

Last weekend I acquired a SR7005, which is a great receiver and I'm happy with it, but a couple of problems have come up since I set it up. My subwoofer has developed a ground loop through the signal cable since upgrading to the Marantz and I did not have this problem with my old Onkyo. The hum...

    Recommendations to replace a TX-SR805

You could say that. Look at my signature.... much analog equipment as well as HDMI. Besides.... in this age of electronics, a model from 2010 isn't necessarily ancient I believe.

    Recommendations to replace a TX-SR805

Thanks, but I ordered a Marantz SR7005 from 2010 off eBay and just received it today. Very nice receiver!

    Recommendations to replace a TX-SR805

Recently after 8 years of use, my TX-SR805's HDMI finally went faulty. I decided to go with a TX-NR906, which is a bit newer and has a few more features. But unfortunately it's been a fiasco because I bought one off eBay that arrived damaged, so I had to send it back after going back and forth...

Sony SA-WX700 Subwoofer - needs repair

I appreciate the help, but that amp is for a different subwoofer.

Car sub - help me choose

Thanks for the input. One thing I like about this forum is I usually get a lot of intelligent responses instead of "get Boss subs" or something like that. I wasn't too sure with the RE either, based on the lack of technical data. I had to e-mail them just to get the frequency response, which...

Replacement Sub for dead Cerwin Vega--- help....!

Check out Hsu Research. I had a Sony SA-WX700 for a number of years where the amp quit unfortunately. I'm pretty happy with the Hsu.

Car sub - help me choose

I know this forum isn't geared toward car audio, but I've been on this forum off and on for a number of years and I trust your opinions. I'm trying to decide between a Infinity Reference 1262w, Infinity Kappa 120.9w or a RE Audio SCX 12"? I've also seen some Boston Acoustics G3 subs showing up...

    Optical out to computer?

I had to reinstall the sound card driver to get it working. It's pretty cool to have the little 8" sub backing up the 12" Hsu, even if it's only a Logitech. :) The Z-2300 sub really puts out some bass for being a computer speaker. I've had it for 8 years and always liked its bass output.

Onkyo long term reliability problems - need recommendations

Getting a sub is highly recommended. You're missing out if you don't have one. The sub eq in Audyssey helps with room acoustic variations. It won't take power away from the receiver because the sub will most likely have its own amplifier, if you buy an active one.

    Optical out to computer?

Thanks. I'm a little stumped because I tried it both ways (before I started this thread). I read the manuals when I discovered the Onkyo only outputs coaxial/optical to optical, but I thought the Oppo send a signal to all outputs without assignment? I don't know... I guess I'll figure it out...

    Optical out to computer?

I'm trying to utilize the optical input on my sound card to playback sources from the entertainment system. I know I could use zone 2 or 3, but the analog input on the sound card is already in use, so that leaves just the optical input. I'm having trouble using the optical outs on either the...

Onkyo long term reliability problems - need recommendations

I agree. The XT32 would be a step up instead of a step back from XT.

Onkyo long term reliability problems - need recommendations

Hmmm.... Makes it hard to decide since I have Audyssey right now. It would seem like I would be going backwards.

Onkyo long term reliability problems - need recommendations

I was looking into the Yamaha RX-A2000. How does YPAO compare to Audyssey? I wonder what kind of equalizer options it has?
