thats exactly what Ive been doing since my first AVR... and use a Rotel to power fronts... or 2 to bi amp for a change. I also have a 3 channel Rotel but just let the Denon power surrounds and centre channels.... one day i will try that also.

sorry for delayed response..... all I can say is its worth every cent i paid.... sounds great and is a great player for Blu ray too.... upscales DVD and has a great little remote... a friend has the the 800 and we cant really pick between them... either way I think you would be happy

hello all, I am having trouble getting sound on my Denon AVR X3100 from Sony Blu Ray player. I've read manuals and I obviously cant fathom where its going wrong. I only have one HDMI running from player to amp. It only comes through as DSD 2 Channel???? I cant change it to 5.1??? Normal Blu Rays...

As the title says I have a hissing Studio 60 when I use my CD player only. If I use my Denon DVD to play no issues....??? CD player Cambridge Audio and has been fine until few days ago and is only a couple of years old. I have not moved anything around..... Any suggestions please??????

Correct. Rotel pre . I bought a CA650C cd player yesterday and plugged it in. Sounds nice. Very suprised that max volume I can use is now only at about 1/3 at most. Using the Denon 1930 it could go almost halfway which from past experience is about normal. I presume a stronger signal and clearer...
