Subwoofer
I have the RX-V2600 and it also set my subwoofer to "Rev". Whether it's right or wrong, I'm an A/V newbie and don't know. I can tell you I just finished watching the Matrix 2, and I've never enjoyed the feel of a movie so much.

No sound out of my UFW-10 Sub from RX-V2600 Receiver
I recently purchased a home theater system including the Yamaha RX-V2600 receiver and the AV123 Rocket UFW-10 Subwoofer. After running the YPAO optimizer calibration, I noticed that the subwoofer wasn't being detected. Upon checking the subwoofer by playing DVD's, I didn't feel any vibration...

Problem: New Yamaha RX-V2600 Won't Power Up Anymore
I was very encouraged by the responses. . . but the results are quite disappointing. I disconnected EVERYTHING except the power cable. Now, when I turn the unit on, it comes on for about 2 seconds, shows the display, makes a clicking sound, and shuts itself off. The manual also suggested...

Problem: New Yamaha RX-V2600 Won't Power Up Anymore
Help! I set up my system for the first time last night and was able to power up the receiver and run a few successful YPAO auto calibrations. Next, I put a DVD in my new DVD player and was able to see the picture, but there was no sound. I did hear sound from the speakers during the...

Cable Price Difference Too Good to be True? (Blue Jeans vs. Impact Acoustics)
Leprkon, my setup is listed in the previous thread in this forum that you helped me out on (recommended setup). I'm setting up my satellite and DVD player as inputs (HDMI only) to my receiver and sending the HDMI output from the receiver to the TV. I know this is kinda weird, but my TV and...

Cable Price Difference Too Good to be True? (Blue Jeans vs. Impact Acoustics)
I'm doing some cable shopping for my new system, and the prices at Blue Jeans generally are MUCH lower than Impact. Am I missing something? Is there an advantage to Impact Acoustics that I'm not aware of? I'll list my itemized comparison followed by (BJ) and (IA) for prices from each place...

Advice on how to connect my new components
Oops. . . you are correct, Jaxvon. I do have the RX-V2600 and it is only missing the DVI inputs/outputs.

Advice on how to connect my new components
I'm looking for advice on how to connect my new system. I'm VERY new to this kind of stuff, but it is exciting. A summary of my components with connections is listed below: LCD Projection TV: All Video inputs (including DVI) except HDMI, all audio inputs including optical HD Satellite...

Dimensions of Yamaha V2600 Receiver?
Uh-oh. . . my main limitation is the space underneath my widescreen TV. There is a shelf with a glass divider that gives 5" clearance on the top and 7" on the bottom. There may be enough space in the back for some ventilation, but if this receiver runs hot, I may need to consider just removing...

Dimensions of Yamaha V2600 Receiver?
I have serious limitations on shelf-space and, strangely, I can't find the dimensions of this receiver. If anybody has them, please post them or post a link here. Thanks!

Problems placing center channel - top of TV too narrow, shelves below too thin
I haven't purchased a home theater system yet, but I was looking at purchasing something similar to the $5k Audioholic recommended setup. My problem is I'm not sure how I can place the VP 100 Center speaker. I have an LCD projection TV and the top flat part of the TV is only 2" deep. Then...

AV123 Rocket ULW-10 vs. Energy 1 S10.3
Excellent responses, everyone. . . and thank you for the VERY detailed response, Kia. I really know almost nothing about home theater setups. To quickly recap my history, I've been thinking about buying surround sound speakers for about a year, but never got serious about it. I have a nice...

AV123 Rocket ULW-10 vs. Energy 1 S10.3
I'm looking at piecing together something similar to the recommended $5k system, and I'm looking for advice on the subwoofer. Although the Rocket ULW-10 (350W) is recommended, a local installer has a package that includes the Energy 1 S10.3 (800 W/200 RMS) speakers for $500. I think I've...

Are ceiling rear speakers good?
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I definitely feel more comfortable buying the ceiling surround speakers now. I really didn't want to mess with rear speakers (wall or floor standing) nor did I want to give up floorspace by moving my couch.

Are ceiling rear speakers good?
I'm about to take my first stab at purchasing a home theater system, and a local shop is recommending a 5.1 system with a pair of Niles CM6HD FX flush ceiling speakers in the rear. Since most of the information on this site pertains to standard bookshelf/surround speakers, I'd like to know...
