    Vizio Proves Cheap HDTV Sells

I purchased a 50 inch plasma P50 in early 2006. It had DCDi deinterlacing from Faroudja, the professional reviewers had given it higher marks on the technical tests than many sets costing twice as much, nice deep blacks and good detail. I have had no issues, no fan noise, and have never been...

    KEF speakers

I'd recommend going with KEF's larger Q series center channel and a different brand of sub.

Jolida 1501rc or other Hybrid integrated users.

Probably not really much help, but I'm using a Jolida 502B and have been very pleased with its build quality. A powerful tube amp (60wpc) that makes my fairly sensitive Triangle Zerius sing and produces a real nice bass punch. I haven't heard their hybrid model(s) though.

room placement is head and shoulders above the other factors. An EQ system may also help

Enter to Win: Onix SP3 Tube Amp from AV123!

I would use the amp as a separate 2 channel system in my primary listening room, paired with high efficiency monitors.

Integrated amp vs Integrated TUBE amp vs Stereo SS receiver

I just picked up a Jolida 502B to go with a pair of Triangle Zerius speakers for my second system. Very cool setup, the tube sound and the warm glow of the amp is hard to beat.

So . . . what's the deal with Boston Acoustics

I can vouch for the Outlaw 990. Its an excellent unit. DVI switching works fine for me, I just run hdmi/DVI cables. Very good sound, the DACs are excellent. Worth the money. I believe the Boston Accoustics is the same in many respects, building on the same rebadged base unit.

    integrated amps and cd players

mulester, here's the link. http://www.av123.com/products_category_brand.php?section=processors&brand=33 perhaps it is only offered in connection with the speakers, although they seem to have B stock as some pretty sick prices. I'm not sure whether the amp, preamp or both sections are...

    integrated amps and cd players

Onix has a sweet combo deal with their CD player and integrated tube amp if you're interested in tubes. I'd bet its sufficiently powerful to drive those speakers too.

    Japan vs. China/Malaysia

if audio equipment were mass produced in the US, it would be insanely expensive and of poor quality. to the extent this is a product of greed, its as much consumer greed as it is greed on the part of the company (i.e., its shareholders, anyone who owns a 401k, invests in mutual funds, etc). If...

Something Comparable to an Outlaw RR2150

Depending on the power you require, I have heard and read good things about the Music Hall a25.2 integrated amp. I believe it has a sub-input. I don't think it has a phono input if that's important to you and only 50 w/pc may be insufficient depending on yoru speakers. Stereophile gave it a...

    Pre/Pro and Amp opinion

I also went from a yamaha 1500 receiver to an outlaw 990 with their 125w x 7 amp and the notice in sound quality was striking. perhaps its because the 990 is a better processor, perhaps because of the additional power, the combo was certainly more expensive than the receiver, but it was well...

    The Ultimate

I haven't heard these, but for sheer coolness the avantgarde trios could give a man nocturnal emissions. <img src=http://www.avantgarde-acoustic.com/img/dyn/gallerie/1108139521420cde01c6883.jpg>

How do you listen to music at home?

I like multi-channel SACD and DVD Audio, so I need use the full compliment of speakers to hear part of my music collection. Space prevents me from having a separate audio only system anyhow.

    Sacd?

I bought my Denon 1920 for about $250, refurbed with full warranty. It works great and SACD sounds great. You can probably get it cheaper if you looked hard enough. There are enough good SACD titles out there that it is worth it to own just for them.

Denon 1920, anyone have one? Like it?

I have it and I'm a fan. I use it almost exclusively for SACD/DVDA and CDs. The picture quality is very good, but imo the Oppo is better, while the Denon's sound quality is much better.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm also looking at those little Dared monoblocks. And Go Blue!

    Omega or Horn Shoppe Loudspeakers?

I'm looking to put together a little second system just for music using a tube amp, so I'm interested in single driver/horn systems that can play be driven with 25-30/wpc. Has anyone had experience with these brands? Budget is a big driver in putting this simple system together, but I don't...

    Music Only Speaker Recommendations

For a music only system with acoustic music in mind, I would go with Magnepans for the huge soundstage and musicality. Their speakers just sound incredible with acoustic music and create such an incredible spacial presence.
