    Need Some Amp Help...

Not quite what I was hoping to hear:(, but not the end of the world either. At this time, I don't really have a need for this amp. I thought it might be nice to use it to power some other areas at my buddies house, but I do have a cheap amp laying around I can use for that. Another guy I know...

    Need Some Amp Help...

I'll pull the cover off tomorrow and see how it looks. I'll also take a look at Audidokarma and see what I can find. I noticed that since unplugging it the channel A VU meter has stayed at 20. It was definately at 0 before I plugged it in. Does that mean anything bad?

3 BDs for $45 at Walmart; a few good titles in there

Several of the titles listed in the 3/$45 offer are also listed in the 3/$30 offer. Probably best to check the lower priced offer first.

    Need Some Amp Help...

Last month I found a SoundCraftsmen MA5002 amp of unknown condition in the basement of a building my buddy owns, original thread here. Today I finally went over and picked it up. I got it home and plugged it in unconnected to see what would happen. The "overload" light came on and the VU meter...

    M and K S-5000 THX

I really have no idea what they'd be worth these days. For grills I doubt you'd be able to find some, you'd more likely have to either make some yourself or have them made. As far as fixing them up goes you'll likely get better info by starting a new thread asking for help fixing up some older...

    M and K S-5000 THX

They are nice speakers and definately worth keeping if they still work well. The S-5000's were one of M&K's top consumer speakers and IIRC the first speaker to be THX certified and also what Dolby Labs had in use in their studios when they first started to develop the 5.1 standard. M&K first...

That truly looks great. Excellent job on the panels and HT.

    Craiglist scam?

For those who didn't notice - 2 year old thread...;) The only scams I seem to get on CL are links to BS sites. I just delete them and move on.

    Avatar BD Review

+1 - I've been thinking how nice this would be for a few years now.

    Auralex Studiofoam

While that statement may be true for certain circumstances, I don't believe it's applicable to all. My tiny place with low ceilings created a megaphone effect where I wasn't able to listen with much volume without the sound turning into a blur of noise. Even at a volume equal to normal speach...

Stolen Car Returned To Owner Totally Pimped Out

News reporters are notorious for getting "facts" wrong in stories as they often have no expertice and little if any knowlege of the subject they're reporting on. I'd lay odds on the reporter having heard "VTEC" and thinking that meant it was a "V8."

    Megan Fox in JONAH HEX

I'm about in the middle on this movie. It looks to me like it could be really good or totally blow but not do too much in between.

    The Remake Vs. The Sequel!

I watched the original Nightmare a few months ago and it's still scary but it is extemely dated, to the point of being almost comical at parts. Most these are the parts without Freddy, but you definately know it was made in the 80's. Still a good flick to watch though.

    The Remake Vs. The Sequel!

Most the critics so far seem to be saying it's visually pretty cool but it's just not scary at all. It's hard to say if scary movies are any good solely based on critics opinions, many times they just rate things based on 'Oscarability', not entertainment value. I usually try to get a consensus...

Illegal downloaders of music are no worse than the RIAA

It looks to be an article from 2 years back. I didn't find any updates or what came of it. None of that changes the fact that it's still a BS move on the part of the RIAA.

Is 3D HDTV Right For You?

I bought a new TV 6 months ago and if I felt HD3D was halfway workable with what's offered now I'd consider a new one. As someone who is interested in A/V I would normally consider becoming an early adopter because I don't want to wait for the new toys. However with 3D so far, IMO, there isn't...

Is 3D HDTV Right For You?

To date I've seen 3dTV twice. The first was on a 50" tv watching tech divers on a deep wreck, I was amazed at how good it looked. Then I found out it was, IIRC, ~$30k in processing and was a professional setup way beyond what is affordable to most. The second time was seeing "Alice in...

    ragohol!!

File a complaint with the FBI's cyber crime division, they take this stuff very seriously and were able to resolve some problems I had. Make sure you have the serial number of the unit you sent out and of the one you recieved. Also It's good, but not necessary, if you have pics of the original...

Tombstone on Blu Ray coming in April!

IIRC, it fell out of common usage sometime in the early to mid 1900's. I'm sure the holster was also part of the reference and likely a nice play on words for those who get it.

    The Remake Vs. The Sequel!

I just read the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes for Ironman2, the overall consensus so far seems to be that the movie is entertaining but convoluted and lacks the goodtime feel of the first.
