    Onkyo announces TX-NR3009 & 5009

I currently own an Onkyo 805 and while it has been a really great receiver, I don't really think my next upgrade will be an Onkyo unit. I will have to see how the 5009 performs and what type of DACS it uses. Personally I am more interested in the feature set of the possible Integra 80.3 (or...

My Onkyo SR805 needs to be upgraded :( NEED HELP

I would be curious as to people opinions about what current gen AVR's are equivalent to the 805 as far as the amp section goes? I think the new HDMI 1.4 standard took some of the AVR companies by surprise and they rushed some of their products out the door. I have loved my 805, but Onkyo...

My Onkyo SR805 needs to be upgraded :( NEED HELP

My wife read the responses and I told her I got the audioholics OK to get a new sub. Then I promptly went to the SVS and HSU websites to do some looking :D The awesome thing is, I went to the SVS PC12-NSD DSP webpage and the wife goes, "I like that one " All the approval I need to make a...

My Onkyo SR805 needs to be upgraded :( NEED HELP

Switched cable box to component and optical audio. All is good. Probably just going to move my PS3 into my office/game room. Leaves me with just enough HDMI inputs :) If I have to have more in the future I will use a switch I guess. Cheers and thanks for the help.

My Onkyo SR805 needs to be upgraded :( NEED HELP

By sdpif cable you mean use coaxial or optical out from the cable box right? I have some component cables, just didn't know the video/audio quality would be the same as HDMI.

My newpoint unit is still running very nicely. I live in Oklahoma and for anyone who knows anything about Oklahoma weather we get a lot of storms. There have been at least three or four power outages at my house since I got the Newpoint and it has done its job very well. The LED's are really...

Placing an Order with Definitive Technology

Hey Dave, I said I would buy a CLR 2300, but I ended up getting a pair of 7006's and a procenter 2000 off eBay for $700. So I won't be getting a CLR 2300. All I can say is the def techs are awesome!!!!

    Nice cheap power Conditioner/surge protector

All I can say about the Newpoint is that it just plain works. I tested my amp without the power conditioner and there was a notable hum in the speakers. Hooked it up with the newpoint, no hum. This is a great value and really works.

    Nice cheap power Conditioner/surge protector

The Newpoint has bright lights. I walked into my living room last night and it looked like a landing strip. However, this is a very small minus that is far out-weighed by the many other big pluses in my book.

Prediction: Blu ray blows away HD DVD in 2008

While I like Blu-ray because it is a superior technology to HD-DVD I can't really stand behind Sony on any of their products. The only reason I have a PS3 is because I got it free due to a best buy mistake (hehehe). Again, the only problem with both HD-DVD and Blu-ray is the price. Most...
