That is indeed an impressive thumb! Almost makes me want to connect the laptop to the main system....
Hope you had the patience to watch the second half (after 2 seconds of black screen) where he slows it down so you can see what he is doing!

My thumb would look like the photo you posted if I tried that!

Actually I didn't watch the next video but just did, he can play. His thumb reminds me of a friend who has a porn tongue mostly....

I'm not sure many folks like being part of a circle jerk. You bring it up often though. How many have you participated in? :D

In other news... been up since 6 o'clock listening to music. EOT and Oblivion were a blast last night. Wife was out visiting friends so I had the house to myself. The walls were rattling in here last night!

They do. Aside from a couple extra channels I don't think it's too much amp either. There's more power and presence than I had with the bookshelf speakers. It's not night and day, but it's unquestionably there.

Cool you enjoy. Whenever I get a minute to myself I'm playing around with the system and it's fun.

My mounts showed up yesterday.

They look huge up there! I went upside down because right side up puts the tweeters too high and these mounts don't tilt quite as far as I'd hoped. They're definitely sturdy enough tho. They hold the weight very well.

Cool mounts. My SM 55 surrounds are on mounts about 2 feet over the seating position. They are toed in just slightly because they are the back wall, not side walls. They don't tilt either. It works perfect though. They swivel though and I tried them straight across but sounded terrible, really took the surround part out completely. Once I turned them in sightly more toward the listening position it was perfect.

Thanks man. I was really surprised to get a delivery on a Sunday.

I have to mount mine high enough that nobody hits their head on them. The one in the first pic is on a corner wall coming from the hallway. Kind of a high traffic area.

This is the high traffic area I'm talking about. the bottom edge of the speaker is just over 6' from the bottom of the floor.

On the other side, there's a perfect spot for a stand, or even mounting the speaker lower.

What sucks is, I have stands custom made just for those speakers. I have the perfect spot tp place one of them, but again, the right speaker would be in a high traffic area. A first world problem for sure, but the struggle is real! :p

That's the view from my seat. Like I said, I'd like to be able to angle them down just a little more. I'd really like to find a way to just put them on the stands I made.

Man...you work quickly.

The wife is going to let the speaker stay like that? Or you are still working on it.

I probably should've used mounts for the rears, but I was too lazy to send the (too short) stand back. I'm going to build plinths instead.

Which speaker? You mean the one with the cable along the wall?

My wife is surprisingly being pretty good about it. She actually likes the way the speakers look (and loves the way they sound). What really shocked me was when she came home yesterday and said "Oh, you got the speakers done. It looks really good!". I can tell she likes what we have. She flat out told me she thinks they look very nice. I lucked out with her. I love my wife.

Was talking about the speaker wire actually...the speakers look great.

No offense, but I love your wife too...my wife would would be whining about the a little 1/16th of an inch speaker wire.

Did they just clamp on tight enough or did you have to drill into the speakers? I need a set of mounts for my bookshelf speakers and they are 15 lbs each.

I did run another calibration and everything is sounding awesome. I watched the first 3 episodes of American God's last night. I'm going to figure out a way to angle them down further or even make it work with stands... somehow.
drill into the speakers
*Pogre passes out :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

No. I did not drill into my speakers. :p

I have them mounted too high for that 7° tilt. Even upside down my tweeters are way over my head. The little mounts for my Deftechs were more articulate and I was able to aim the tweeters right at me (or slightly above). I'm afraid if I mount them any lower someone is gonna crack their head open walking around the corner from the hallway. I can put a stand there close to the wall, there's room, but it's a high traffic area.
