In wall speaker advice/help

I have dated experience with audiophile quality stereo. I'm building a house with a dedicated HT and am in the middle of educating myself. I've been wondering about In-Wall speakers as I know that traditionally the enclosure and baffling are incredibly important to sound quality. I read with interest the Audioholics article The Truth About In-Wall Speakers. This prompted me to order the AH Total Combo Power Pack (All EB# and Updates) and join the forum.

I'm in search of the $$ sweet spot and noticed the articles $2,500 5.1 Channel Recommended Home Theater System and $5,000 5.2 Channel Recommended Home Theater System . I assume Dolby Atmos is the way to go which I assume will bump up those prices 25%.

At these price points is going with in-wall going to compromise the audio experience? I definitely want to put the center speaker behind the (acoustically) transparent screen. Perhaps a combination of In-Wall and bookshelf/free standing?
