I have a pair of rear ported speakers I'd like to mount on the wall, they're crossed over way above their port frequency so it's not like they're getting a ton of bass anyways. What would happen if I were to mount the almost flush to the wall? They're used as surrounds.

If you have to flush mount some rear-ported speakers against a wall, you might as well just plug the ports. You might get odd wind noises from the speakers otherwise, and the ports won't be functioning correctly anyway.

If, as surround speakers, they're crossed over "way above their port frequency", it shouldn't matter whether the ports are open or plugged.

Details do matter. What is the port frequency, and what is the crossover frequency?

Port frequency is ~80hz, crossover is 100hz.

Theoretically speaking, what would happen if you plugged the ports and ran them full range? A loss of extension or something worse?
