Samson Resolv RXA Series

I was looking at these and Sam Ash has a good price on them - the least expensive speakers (from a company with a decent history) with ribbon tweeters that I have seen.

Was wondering if anyone would have/share any thoughts on them - 5" vs 6" or any competitors I don't know of.

The subwoofer is comparatively pricey, but is an interesting option with a remote to control the entire system!

An interesting option for a $500 music system (no AVR needed as long as you only have one source) and not a bad consideration vs a soundbar.

TIA!

Kurt, Sam Ash is great to deal with. I highly recommend them. But, the Samsons not so much. I would look elsewhere if I were you.

Cheers,

Those look like AMT tweeters, not ribbons. Still, it would be interesting to hear what they can do.

I don't want to keep beating this horse, but the little air motion tweets on these puppies aren't ribbons. I only point that out because ribbons are inherently expensive to build, while some form of AMT can be built for next to nothing. For example, the Parts Express B652-Air has an AMT and a 6.5" woofer, and lists for $60/pr.

Yeah, thanks!
I have read some more on these and they do not seem to be a good candidate. Per TLSGuy, the 3500 crossover is a high frequency for the woofer to play well (given that it is an inexpensive woofer), and more importantly, Speakerman tells me that they did not sound very good!
Oh well, I wish pro reviews were more candid.
Thanks all!
