A few questions regarding AV receivers

Yes, I WILL buy an avr as I need amplification for my passive speakers. It just seems that I don't need to spend on it too much, because the features I look for are mostly available on the software I use to play my media.
As long as your avr can accept that decoded format, multich pcm if using hdmi....

How about a used, well kept Denon AVR 5200? Heck of a receiver;)

Guys, your opinions on Yamaha RX-V675 and Denon AVR-1713? They're similarly priced in the used market. The Yamaha has YPAO RSC and the Denon has Audyssey MultEQ XT. As far as I know the YPAO RSC only handles frequencies down to 31hz, which MultEQ XT goes down to 10hz.

My sub has a -3db point at 20hz, will I need the MultEQ XT for it or is the YPAO RSC good enough?
