I had my unit diagnosed by an authorized Pioneer repair shop. They said the HDMI card needed to be replaced and quoted me $450. $300 for the part and then labor after that. Has anyone had this issue? I feel capable of replacing the card but at $300 for not being sure how long that will fix it should I just go ahead and get an updated receiver for a few hundred dollars more than working on a 5 year old unit?

For the $100 for labor to include a small warranty isn't bad if you were going to keep it.
I'll add that pioneer hasn't had a high component failure rate for their avrs.
