HI Gene..
I did visit the MonoPrice booth @CEDIA 2016.. 1 reason the price appears high for the 2-channel version is that they used common tooling for the entire series. Nice idea to save tooling amortization $ but this means that fewer channel amplifiers have a lot of open space inside which is unused. Making the best value the 7-channel version. U can take out output amplifier stages, smaller power supply but the open used air space means a higher material cost on a watts per pound basis.

Just my $0.02.. ;)

How hot do these amps get?
Playing a DVD-A (Casino Lights - '99) at -12, the hottest amp reading was around 129* and my setup is in an open rack (open sides and 7" clearance at the top), so if you plan to install in a cabinet rack with very little clearance, I suggest fans for sure. The amps run around around 107* at regular listening levels - around-32.

My Parasounds make the tiniest of sounds when your ear is within 1ft of my speakers I can hear a very feint buzz. How do these amps perform?

This is a very nice amp. I have an old Model 770 from Outlaw which came with a 5 year warranty. It has worked great for many years. It only has 2.0 kVA transformers- with the same capacitance. It weighs 3 lbs less. It's sensitivity is 1.43 V. It was $1800.00 from Outlaw Audio over 10 years ago. This looks like a great deal from Monoprice.
