Soffit Bass Trap Question

I have a home theater room that is virtually Square, 16' x 16' with the exception of a back of a fireplace that sticks out 2' x 4' in the middle of the sidewall. Have soffits that are 15 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches deep. They are open which I will cover with acoustic material. They cannot be larger or they will interfere with my AV cabinet glass door.

What should I put in that cavity that would be the best for bass traps? I understand loosely packed R19 is good but not sure if two layers packed in that space would fit that definition. Should I put some OC 703 at the top and then some R19?

Any thoughts on what would work best?

Cabinetry, and AV cabinet, and a corner sub woofer, and an entry door block The corners of the room and do not allow me to use corner bass traps.
