Default Cream Live at Royal Albert Hall Blu-Ray - anyone else find the surround mix gimmicky

Overall, this is a great performance (though I wish they had played "Strange Brew") and quite well-captured.

However, the surround mix is just gimmicky. "Toad" is unlistenable in DTS Master HD, because the surround engineers thought it would be a good idea to swirl Ginger Baker's drums through all five channels, rather than giving us a high-fidelity mix of drums on the stage with ambience around.

I actually prefer the disk in 2-channel with DPL2 to matrix it out to 5-channel. It's just more convincing that way.

...or just listen in 2 channel.

There is absolutely no question in my own mind that the sound of a component or cable changes during the first half dozen drinks that I consume.
