Vincent, by Don McLean.
...I think there are many beautiful lyrics and melodies...the only song that makes me cry is Greg Lake's I Believe In Father Christmas...The realization that it all (not just Christmas BTW ) seems to be a pack of lies is way too powerful...

The Dance - Garth Brooks...heard it just after my second heart attack. The missus heard it on the way to the hospital when she found out I went in. She later bought it and played it for me.

Ha, cool, didnt think I would ever get this many replies.
Music is very powerful.
I took a listen to most of the songs posted here, they are touching, and moving.
Though I want to give you a little back story on 'The Echo Never Fades'.
The song was written in the rememberence of young boy named Taylor Caruso, he was a model student, and the one person everyone could rely on.
A letter was sent from Taylor's High Schools music instructor, requesting a peice be composed for this lost boy.
He was reluctant at first, but then started receiving emails from Taylor's various freinds, reqeusting he compose this mosterpeice.
The name comes from one of Taylor's poems.
His mother vowed to always attend each performance of this song that she could. We did try to get a hold of here, but unfortuneatly, we couldnt.
I hope this helps you better understand this peice.

Tonight by Elton John.
Reminds me of my second marriage. Maybe the first. I forget. (Fake sniff).
Regardless, Nice classical piano, orchestral movements, great lyrics, IMO one of EJ's most over looked songs.

There are many many beautiful songs, I can only say that "Us and Them" (DSOTM) is one of many songs I still enjoy as the first time. (specially in the SACD version)
