Welcome to the forum! Don't be nervous we don't bite! Just kidding! I will check out that Allman Brothers live album. You got me interested in listening to some of the The Kinks too

    A couple of newer CDs:
    Vampire Weekend
    Lorraine Feather - Language.

I like them both. Lorraine Feather is a jazz singer with really quirky lyrics and excellent backing musicians. I'm not sure how to describe Vampire Weekend. The singer sounds like a young Sting or possibly Ray Davies. Many of the lyrics are a bunch of non-sequiturs but there are some that hang together as songs. The arrangements are fairly spare with some African rhythms mixed in.

You'd think that, after all these years and albums, Waits might start feeling lazy...but no, this monster has 3 CDs and 50 songs. Some songs recycled but a lot of new material too. This guy is amazing. If you like this catch the indie movie "Wristcutters". Waits is an archangel in an alt-universe full of suicides. The perfect role for Tom.

A CD I've had for a while that somehow got pushed aside. Recently I pulled it out and It's gotten stuck in my head...Son Volt - The Search. I'm a great fan of the old Uncle Tupelo. It's descendants, Wilco and Son Volt are very different from each other but each excellent in their own way. The Search is excellent basic guitar rock.
