    Default Enter the Void

Probably one of the more interesting movies I've seen lately, but this one is not for the light hearted.

This won't spoil the movie, it's even in the trailer:
In Toyko, a drug dealer reads the Book of the Dead is soon killed. The story follows his body (mostly through his eyes) as it floats above, viewing the story after his death.

The visuals are mind blowing. The director has obviously experimented with DMT, because he successfully visualizes the intense and quick acting aspects of the drug, and quick end (DMT comes on extremely intense, but is short acting).

Why the DMT tie? DMT has been said to be the drug that simulates the chemicals your brain releases when you die or are dying. I don't know if that's true or not, but, I imagine that's why they decided to use DMT for the visualizations.

    Trailer:

The cinematography is crazy, and so unique I think a lot of people will appreciate it. The downside, is that the movie is far from uplifting, but I was glad I watched it.

DO NOT WATCH THIS WITH KIDS (full nudity, drug use, disturbing imagery, violence, bad language)

I loved this movie, I can't wait to watch it again. My home theater is down right now, had to make some room for a foster dog, but once the dog is gone this is going to be one of the first movies I rewatch. I am looking forward to whatever Gasper Noe is doing next, his movies definitely aren't to everyone's tastes, but you can't argue against his originality.

The trailer looks quite psychedelic...interesting. It's been a while since anybody did either psychedelia or the Tibetan Book of the Dead. It prompts me to admit that I once wrote a grad school paper on TBD and drug-induced altered states, which were still being researched in the 80's (a lost opportunity when the US surrendered to Pharma corporations and banned that). I'll have to check this one out.

Yeah, for sure not for everyone, but very original and what cool cinematography and visuals. And what a cool setting for it, Toyko!!!
