Prometheus
Just ran across this. Had a "Alien" vibe to it. Plus it is a Ridley Scott film.

Looks pretty cool.
Btw, when are people going to learn to stop landing on planets when there's spooky music playing? It never ends well. Just sayin...

Sure does. I think it is somewhat of an Alien prequel with a search for extraterrestrial sources of human life, Ridley Scott's latest extravaganza. Looks interesting.
I was somewhat surprised to see Noomi Rapace among the cast. 2 weeks ago, I had no idea who she was, then I saw the new Sherlock Holmes episode and she was there. Next I saw the Swedish version of a Girl With Dragon Tatoo and she was there too; now in the next Scott movie.

Promethius was the name of the ship in the alien movies,
And this is not a somewhat, but a real prequel to the alien.
The shair with alien is the same, at least according to my coworker huge alien fan.

I thought it was the Nostromo?
Monday I am going to call my buddy Darrin and ask him if his cousin wrote this too.
Also, does anyone else on here think that the first two (Alien and Aliens) were the only good movies of the Alien series and the others should be purged from existence?

I think both would be thought of more highly if they were standalone films and not part of the series. The first two films are quite possibly the best examples each of their respective sub-genres (sci-fi horror, sci-fi action/adventure). I've re-watched III and IV recently and think they're both fairly interesting films with some good points and, yes, some major flaws, but they aren't actually all that bad - except as a let down from the very high standards of I and II. As standalones, I bet each would be considered minor "cult classics".

I think part of the problem was Weaver, being a super star at the time, had to much creative input and it backfired. She axed Hicks' part because she wanted to be the sole star, which I think ruined it since he was such a big part of the previous chapter. The films went from being first, the ultimate horror sci-fi, (Scott)then to the ultimate sci-fi adventure,(Cameron) to, yeah, that was ok(Fincher, my previous effort was a Madonna movie).
