I'll agree with you about the LFE on the second film's Blu-ray Disc -- although the first one's Dolby TrueHD mix was no slouch at all -- but with regard to the "badass" villain character in Mickey Rourke in the sequel, I can understand the notion that it seemed like he was defeated in both fights with Stark/Iron Man in a matter of minutes, but he did some serious ***-kickin' of Tony and even Rhodes in the War Machine suit, don't forget, throwing them both around like they were rag dolls in the end sequence...the thing is, though, Favreau was kind of going for the hero-always-wins scenario rather quickly, making Tony and Rhodey stronger than any adversary when they really put their strength and insight together. And that's just cool comic stuff.
Also, don't forget -- in the first racetrack fight sequence when Stark first encounters Vanko, he can't really get the upper hand initially because he underestimates the power of Vanko's suit. Eventually, Stark gets tired of his energy bursts being deflected by Vanko's lightning whips and he wraps his whips up in order to get close to him and punch his daylights out before flipping him upside down and ripping his chest piece out...
I thought it was VERY cool.![]()
