      First of all, thanks for the detailed build thread on your ER18's! I have followed it closely as I have been building mine. I have finished gluing them and am now at the point of sanding, then finishing to a gloss black such as yours. Three questions I have for you,

      1. How did you seal the end grain and joint lines? In past experience with the gloss black, joint lines eventually showed up and end grain looks a bit more textured than the rest of the project. Did you run into this at all?

      2. It was recommended to me by the local specialty paint shop that high gloss lacquer is the best for the "piano black" finish. Is this what you used? BTW, your finished product is the best I have ever seen.

      3. Did you seal the entire exterior of your cabs with anything, such as a wood glue/water mixture or a wood sealer prior to priming?
