Arrow JBL Project Everest DD65000 and DD67000 Flagship Loudspeakers

At CES 2013 Harman’s JBL announced it is broadening its top-of-the-line Project Everest loudspeaker range with the introduction of its DD65000 ultrahigh-end floorstanding speaker. The DD65000 combines newly developed driver technologies and refinements to deliver extraordinary musical realism, and has a distinctively elegant visual appeal that blends classic and contemporary design elements. The DD65000 incorporates a number of newly developed drivers and technologies. It employs two newly developed 1501AL-1 cast-aluminum-frame woofers with a new paper pulp-matrix woofer material augmented by a rear-applied AquaPlas coating, a combination that preserves sonic neutrality while damping unwanted cone resonances for controlled, articulate bass response.

I don't see how this is so different than the 66000. Looks like it might have slightly improved drivers, with maybe a somewhat lower Fs? Either way, this line of speakers is one of those I have always wanted. A DD67000 sounds massive, would love to have that!

I am sure you would be happy with them. They sounded great in our demo. And they are pretty massive, and heavy, nearly 400lbs/ea.

I'm a bit of a JBl fanboy, and if I won the lottery or invented edible sweatpants (sure to be a late night infomercial hit), I would buy these unheard. And then maybe some Wilsons for the family room, something a little less over the top for the bathroom like some Revels...

    Did you listen to them?

Love the real reviews, but these previews just link to the site or the press release (which, some of these previews basically are...type of **** I have time for when I have the flu lol).

I like the updates, but just use a sidebar and link to their site (or press release hehe). Then save the prime real estate of the home page for the stuff you guys really put effort into, like the reviews or articles. That's what makes Audioholics cool.

I say this out of wishing the best for the site, which I really enjoy as a whole. So, keep up the good work as a whole, that's just a minor *****.
