Default Speakers for my new system

Hello, i'm planing to buy a Stereo system to only listen to Music.
The setup i'm thinking in is: iMac connected via Toslink (Digital) to a HK3490 Stereo receiver, and then to a pair of B&W 685.
The setup price should not exceed 1000€
As i can get the receiver for 325€ this leaves me with 675€ for a good pair of bookshelf Speakers. I've thinker in the 685's as their Bass port is on the front, (I can't add a Sub). They will be in top of a table.

Which other Good bookshelf (If good enough can be tower) can i get for the same price?

    Thanks a lot.

Check out these speakers from Definitive Technology. They should give you enough bass to NOT need a sub for two-channel listening.
