Question I have Sweet speakers but can't use them! help a brotha out

I have a Pioneer vsx-521 is in my Living room with a blu ray and cable input.
I have four 201 Bose direct/reflecting speakers. How should i plug them into the surround sound to get the best quality sound?, should i get another speaker? i am scared of shorting my amp because my bose require so much power.

And how can i just play music on the system. If i plug an RCA to aux chord into it and then in my ipod it only plays on one speaker.

My blu ray has a usb port i was thinking of utilizing this to use all the speakers. I really have no idea though. Help me out if you can!

If you only have 4 speakers, you should plug two of them to the Main front channels and two of them to the surround channels of your receiver. Then turn off the center and surround back channels. Calibrate the 4 speakers using the internal test tones and an SPL meter. You can run 4CH stereo when listening to CD's or MP3s for more impact. Peruse the Audioholics Editorial site for more setup tips.

Down the road you may want to upgrade your speakers and add a powered sub for more bass impact.

    Good luck.

Those speakers are decent for music, but you might not be happy with them for home theater use. The whole direct/reflecting thing and mediocre frequency response make it hard to understand voices.
