    Default Wire Extender

    Hi Guys

I know this will be frowned on I know but I don’t have a choice.

I need to move my amp but don’t have enough wire to get to the new amp location. The wire speaker wire runs from my amp into the loft drilled through the joists to my rear wall mounted speakers.

I am looking for the best way to connect extra wire with min signal lose.

    Hope you can help

How about putting in a wall plate where the wires exit the wall, terminating the existing wires at the rear of the plate, then running new speaker wires from the amp to the front of wall plate?

Using something like this - For only $2.81 each when QTY 50+ purchased - High Quality Banana Binding Post Two-Piece Inset Wall Plate for 2 Speakers - Coupler Type | Banana Binding Post Wall Plates

That's a good idea, but he needs to move the amp, not the speakers. Still, the same thing applies IMO, I'd put a wall plate and then you can make the wire from the receiver to the wall however long you like. Not as clean as straight through, but I did it like this for my dad's house and it works fine.

    Thats a fantastic solution

Great think is i can hide the plate behind one of me front speaker and use right angle Banana plugs and run the wires to the amp in parallel with my front speaker wire to my new amp location

    Thanks
