Vodka and ice water.

I wish that I would have thought of doing that earlier. Refreshing and lower calories.

Gin (Bombay Sapphire) and Tonic.

Very refreshing drink to get through this heat wave...

Haven't seen any mention of wines, so I thought I'd contribute-up for this evening is a superb Cotes du Rhone Villages red on the Kirkland (!) label-a terrific bargain at $7 and one of the best reds I have bought at Costco lately (compares very well with Barolos and Brunellos I've bought there that cost 3x-4X the price, and those are equally good bargains for their varietal type). It goes very well with a nice Brie and a vintage Blue Note or Prestige jazz album on the 'table (Sonny Rollins is my current preference), and maybe a Cohiba on the patio later in the evening (with some vintage bebop jazz from the HTPC playing over the patio speakers). Right now, I am drinking a San Pellegrino-it's a bit too early for wine here in LA. Santé!

Since you mentioned wines, I picked up the last case I could find of '06 Artesa Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.

Also picked up a couple bottles of '07 Antica Cab and a '07 Stag's Leap Artemis Cab.

I also found a killer Pinot Noir. 2007 Abiouness Stanly Ranch Caneros
This is the last batch from these old vines since they plowed them under.

I spent the last 4 months or so in Mendocino, surrounded by grapes (pic was obviously before they leafed out a few months ago).

I've been to Artesa many times. The tasting room and grounds are amazing! Good stuff, but pricey.

These guys have the best Pinot I've tasted in the area (got to meet the wine maker too):

This is another excellent winery from the Carneros region (about 2 miles from Artesa):

Killian Red

well it's beer-thirty here ! :D
This was my beer of choice, but that bleepin' Rickster71* got me hooked on Sam Adams Irish Red. It's the same, only better?!?

Try it, you might like it. I did, and look what happened.
