DD Audio is a company primarily known for their presence in the mobile audio space, but these days they've got their sights set on the home audio market. Their new loudspeaker lineup consists of a two way bookshelf speaker, a powered monitor, an on-wall speaker, an in-wall/in-ceiling speaker, and a powered subwoofer. With budget friendly prices, the question becomes: what does the new kid on the block have to offer? Keep reading to find out.

Reading the specs (other than many being 4 Ohm) and looking at the pics, things seem good and then you see the pricing. Sounds like a pretty good value if they sound as good as they seem to be spec'ed to be.

I was into car audio for a while too and I'm not familiar with the name either.

Their sub measures pretty darn well for only $429. Stay tuned for our review of their sub and powered monitors in about a month.

Dd pm-151

I have had the opportunity to listen many times to DD products. From there older bookshelf style speakers that can rarely be found to the pm-151. I have never been disappointed with any of there products. I have had the chance to visit the factory/showroom and the staff there has always been helpful. A former coworker got me hooked on DD about 3 years ago.

Currently running HK's for my surrounds and Bostons for my analog system. Recently acquired a pair of pm-151s that I use for my ipod.

I think a lot of people would also be interested in the passive bookshelf.

So from the summary statement/question from the preview - what does this statement mean?

"Anybody interested in giving the new kids on the block a try? Let us know on our forums."

I am interested in them.

It looked to me like you were fishing to score some loaner equipment to review. I was about to say you'd finally be forced to get a camera. :)

Yeah, DD should send zieg a pair of these so he can start taking pictures of things.

Yes, I may finally buy a cell phone to take some pictures.:)

Not much info on these speakers for sure - and hardly no specs to go on.
And it seems like Audioholics passed on these passive speakers.

Also 4 ohms - not something I would think about for head-bangers,
as these seem to be meant for the budget-friendly minded.

Their web site also could use a little help.

If they want to try and push these speakers - then they should think about
selling them on-line.

I am interested in hearing them, to see how they will hold up against the
likes of the Cambridge S30, Pioneer BS22, Infinity P153/163 and the HTD
Level Two speakers

At the moment, I do not want to buy them cold - however, I would like to
test them out.:)

No oddly they sent us the active speakers with a sub. I would have preferred the passive speakers but it is what it is.
