Progress slowed yesterday, so I combined the last two days into this post.

So yesterday, I began measuring out the braces for the baffle, when I realized I didn't have a safe way to cut such small pieces. The Festool saw would be safer, but difficult with such small pieces, and jigsaw would be messy. The best option would be the table saw, but I needed a jig if I wanted to increase my chances of keeping all of my fingers. A "sled" was in order...

You can find different versions in google. This one is basically the design from Bill Fitzmaurice's site, where the THT plans are. I used hardwood (oak) for the back, and "Miter-slider" tracks from Lee-Valley. Worth the time and effort to build and make as straight and true as possible.

After building the sled, I had enough time to cut and install the first set of braces...

Number of braces varies with box width. Mine needs three, with the one in front of the speaker modified to ensure clearance from the speaker cone.

Things went much quicker today. Sequence was fairly repetitive. Cut and install panel; cut and install braces; repeat.

One thing the instructions doesn't mention is being careful not to push the braces too far in, as it could create a bulge. For the last set in the previous picture, I set a guide on top of the cabinet and shoved in the brace just until it started to lift, then pulled it back until the guide settled flat. Also, though the brace will be tight when dry fitting, it can slide in A LOT farther when greased up with PL.

    Home-stretch (I think) tomorrow...

    Last main panels in place...

Still some fiddly bits to cut for bracing in the driver chamber, install driver and wiring post, button up and test.

    Default It lives!

After burning up the day in the city to exchange the bad piece of plywood, I finally got back to it...

    Braces and rim installed...

Bottom access cover cut, braced and weather-stripped...

    Overhang trimmed...

I decided to bring the speaker into the family room to install the driver and leak check. Speaker was heavy enough!

    This beast dwarfs my 63"!

I had an extra 100W amp handy so I set it up with that for now. It'll take some more playing around, but I'm very happy with it. The heart beat in Dark Side of the Moon revealed some loose parts in my fireplace. "Busy Child" by Crystal Method was startling. I can tell the THT is reaching depths I had only heard/felt in my car stereo. I can only imagine what this will be like with the Bash 300W's.

And yes, I've already begun the second THT LP.

Hopefully I've provided enough meaningful info in this thread.

With the second sub underway, I expect this build to go much quicker.

Assembled, but unfinished, I completely agree.

Veneering and trimming to follow after completion of the second THTLP.
