Movie froze with Pioneer 578a

Ok...the first movie I watch on my new Pioneer 578a freezes...maybe it was the movie, (Platoon Special Ed) or maybe it was this new player...Any experience with movies freezing? never saw this before on my Panny F85. Maybe a layer change the player couldn't handle?

Dumb question here but is your DVD in good condition?

If you try and play the movie again, does the problem reappear again in the same movie scene or was it something completely random? Also try another movie if you can.

the movie was brand new. I did not play it in my old DVD player, but i will try that too....
