You guys have any advice on cheap powered computer speakers that sound half way decent? I only want to spend $25. I know I can't expect much but point me in the right direction. Thanks

I found some Altec Lansing 2.1 (sic) speakers at Walmart for $25 that do a better job than I expected. I keep 'em at my son's house in Texas for us to plug our Ipods, CD players and what-nots into when we're staying there.

I gave the person the reds because he/she was embedding java scripts once he/she reached five posts.

I'm suprised the mods didn't ban that user for spamming. You can do a lot of damage with just one hit  .

$25 is a tough price point. Honestly, go look on craigslist for some used speakers...ask to demo them (use your ipod). You can get a used Cambridge audio 2.1 setup for about that price, and while it's missing some high treble due to the tweeterless satellites, it's still a fine computer speaker system.

Where are you located? I have the Logitech Z-340 in excellent condition and you can have them for $20 if you're local.

For $15-$25 and if you don't listen at real loud volumes they're pretty good.
I haven't looked at computer speakers under $100 for years now, so I don't know how they compare to the newer products.

I run the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 speakers with an 8" sub. They sound pretty good, although the highs are a little sterile without any equalizing. I think my old Altec Lansing 2100 has better highs.

Hey there brother. Thanks for chiming in. Are you going to the Northwest get together? That speed limit sign in your avatar must be from the street I live on. :p

Most definitely! I have signed up to bring my M60's along.
My neighbors feel that I have this speed limit sign travelling with me whenever I drive :-) The speed limit is actually posted on the drag strip at Pacific Raceway.

Goodwill.
I've got three around me and their inventory has a lot items that could easily be swapped up for cheap. It's even better when you hit the Saturday 1/2 off sale once a month!
