Hi, i have been reading through posts with in this forum for the past couple of days to get a general idea of what PA speakers would suit me best but i still thought i should ask for advice.

Im looking for a pair of active PA speakers (these have built in sub's right?) that are no more than £200 so thats like $300 or around that.

Speakers would be placed in a double garage converted into a living room.

Since i literally have no idea about speakers i just have a few questions;

Is it possible to connect the two speakers to a jack which can be plugged into a laptop?

When looking through speaker spec's what is classed as 'good' e.g for frequency range etc.

Would i need any other equipment to also hook these speakers up to a dvd player or anything along those lines.

Help is much appreciated.

I believe in being honest and 300 dollars won't get you anything decent for PA speakers.

The only speaker brand I know from England is KEF. Which happens to make my favorite speakers. Used Cerwin Vega's are usually nice.

What size is the garage?

Like a 2 car garage?

If so you willl want to make sure to rockwool the entire place IMO. For insulation and sound purposes. If you plan on doing loud parties it will be though, but if it's a quieter crowd you can start of with some smaller speakers and move up as you get the cash.
